solohelp Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 BTWThe computer doesnt have to be rebooted just the task killed. Then it boots normally and works fine.
Mekrel Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 No sorry it was late, i will update tonight when i get back at 9pm uk time.I think its because i used start /wait infront of the /regserv command of the .exe.So I will update tonight Sorry all!
mc134 Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 I extracted your .exe and changed the start /wait to just start and i still got the 101 error.
mickmack Posted February 24, 2005 Posted February 24, 2005 REG ADD %KEY%\022 /VE /D "Microsoft Antispyware BETA" /fREG ADD %KEY%\022 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\mantispy.exe /s /a /s /v"/qb" /fREG ADD %KEY%\022 /V 2 /D "%CDROM%\Software\internet\antispy.msi /quiet" /fas i told before it works without problem. anyone knows registry tweaks to disable questions about enabling agents and realtime protection on first start?
Mekrel Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Yes mickmack but your trying to install from 2 different sources = waste of space.Hmm aint sure then, i got the 101 error (never when i tested at first but did when unattended). Then i chaned the start /wait but that was a no go either.
solohelp Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 On my dvd space isnt an issue. But on my CD I'm pushing it already.
bonedaddy Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 @ blinkdttried your method in wpi and works perfect, thanks.......BD
Swimming_Bird Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 anyone tried messin with the setup.ini file?[Info]Name=INTLVersion=1.00.000DiskSpace=8000;DiskSpace requirement in KB[Startup]CmdLine=SuppressWrongOS=YScriptDriven=0ScriptVer=1.0.0.1DotNetOptionalInstallIfSilent=NOnUpgrade=1RequireExactLangMatch=0404,0804Product=Microsoft AntiSpywarePackageName=Microsoft AntiSpyware.msiMsiVersion=2.0.2600.0EnableLangDlg=NDoMaintenance=NProductCode={536F7C74-844B-4683-B0C5-EA39E19A6FE3}ProductVersion=1.0SuppressReboot=YPackageCode={0F5BF410-4D79-4DBE-AF54-C3271D47D4BD}looks like at the very lest you could add the command line info in there.PS this isnt the complete setup.ini file.
Mekrel Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 ok thats the next step but i got work in 15 mins. Will do tonight.
robchurch Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Causes problems for me; when users log on/off, it detects that Windows itself is changing some reg. entry, and documents get mixed up - though why Windows would change a key between users is beyond me.
Mekrel Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Think i resolved this btw. Im currently making a bartPE disk to format my NTFS drives to do a proper clean install. Then that will be the best way to test before i update the installers.
SCVic Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Is there a switch for MSAS that will not put a shortcut on the desktop after installation?
Mekrel Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 nope but you can simply delete it with as part of cleanup.cmd at the end of all the application setups.DEL /F "%UsersProfile%\Desktop\Microsoft AntiSpyware.lnk"btw install went fine last night
SCVic Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Thanks Mekrel Is it safe to assume that "cleanup.cmd" should reside in the $oem$ folder on the cd?
