wow, i was soo ignorant but ive seen the light :P

Im going to go add to my Freeware list: EAC and CDEX.

No more WMP10 Cd Rips. I only use FLAC or LAME now.

im going to try razorlame next, though im very happy.

great thread, but the Poll is broken.

EAC is recognized to be the n.1 ripper

But CDEX performs well than EAC under certain circumstances

Shortly, tried both, loved both. Now I use foobar2000. It does EVERYTHING (play, rips, manage) and it's enought FOR ME.

Er... what is winamp ^___^;

OK Ive got this down. B)

1) RIP Audio CD to WAV files using EAC.

2) IF there are any errors, BRASSO the disk until they go away :)

3) ENCODE using Flac Frontend.

4) Tag Files with MetaData.

5) Enjoy. :thumbup

Heh, I downloaded AudioGrabber for my girlfriend to use and an even better one has been on the back of my mind. I'm glad I noticed this thread. Audio rippers seem to be the main thing she gets the hang of with the PC. Well, she can do pretty much anything as long as I show her. ^_^

Anyway, I'll try CDex. I like freeware. I currently use 1By1 Directory Player to playback my MP3...dunno if I'll use foobar2000...will check it out sometime.

Cheers,

Jeremy

I prefer iTunes over anything, and that's freeware too ;)
