Don't know mazin.  I was just saying what worked for me.

Thanks for confirmation.

Now, I've got a new idea, tested it, and worked very well. I need feedback so that LU issue is over.

I renamed the downloaded lusetup.exe lsetup.exe and put it in ...\CommonAppData\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LuMMInst as a replacement.

I ran SAV.msi and LU 2.5 installed automatically!

May someone try it?

Thanks.

BINGO! It works no problems!

I think we can safely say that the issues have been resolved!

WOOHOO! Thanks for your confirmation.

Actually, this is what I meant by this party:

Well!

Now the beast is under control! Watch for news. EVERYTHING is solved.

Another Symantec product is smashed by mazin©.

WOOHOO.

I'll update my guide, soon.

Thanks again.

Why does it says Impossible to install the service SAVRTPEL (SAVRTPEL). Check that you have sufficient privileges to install services

wtf? I am administrator! If I click on Ignore it says later Failed to load Symantec AntiVirus Auto-Protect

And why does live update go on at the end of install? I added the line so it would go on but in the old packager LU could run silently and update itself silently after installation if i'm right...

So how can we tell it to update silently in the back while other apps install?

@Thauzar

So far, this guide has been talking about unlicensed version of SAV.

If you've got the licensed version (Business Pack), then you need to download an MSP that's different from what we talked about here.

For anyone who wants to determine which version is installed on his PC, please read this.

And from there, you'll know what to download to update your product.
