Meh !  My opinion .  Vista and XP are just too old.  I used to be a lot more "vintagey" with operating systems, but i find it just holds you back.  Worrying about compatibility and what not just starts to waste time.  I'm even in the process of migrating to LTSC because Windows 8 is starting to get long in the tooth, mostly because all of these browser fork authors are changing their minds on a whim about development direction.  One starts to realize there's more to life than worrying about areall this stuff.

To each their own though.

Of course. Not being a real administrator is much better. But you were already used to that from Windows 8. So nothing new under the sun.  BTW, my Windows XP runs perfectly.

So did mine (and the garage computers are still on XP).

BUT...  If you can truly and honestly remove all aspects of the HAWTHORNE EFFECT (not many can!), just how often MUST you resort to your beloved ANDROID ???

Bearing in mind that many of us (myself included) that when we were on XP, we did not have that Android as a fallback.

As "sad" as it is, there came a point where I simply could not (and still can not to this day) pay my city utilities bill on anything that can run in XP.

So what was I to do?  Stick to my guns and stick with XP, but then land in court at the hands of a collections agency because I had no way to pay my city utilities?

We all have to balance that teeter totter.  And again, some of us do not have an Android to fall back on.

So we can all "yell at" each other all we want, what works for "you" (no specific person, generic pronoun) really won't work for "everyone".

No matter how loud the "this OS versus that OS" diehards around here keep insisting.

So yeah, "to each their own".
