fREAST Posted August 3 Posted August 3 I have some issues with the latest mailnews release (mailnews.win32-20250802-40a79c75-uxp-3553319265-xpmod), opening some emails crashes the program. At least the 5 prior releases can open these emails without issues (eg. mailnews.win32-20250726-7bda12e7-uxp-7e0ddfef73-xpmod) I can send an eml file but would rather do it in private message if that is possible. Here's event viewer logs, let me know if I can get any other logs somehow. kuja killer Posted August 20 Posted August 20 (edited) Hello, i need to ask about something again. Does the paypal website not work in these browsers anymore ?? I've tried your Seperent, New Moon/Pale Moon, and Mypal 74.1.1 I've had a paypal account since the early 2010's and never had any issues with it before. But suddenly i cant seem to even get to the actual login page on any browser whatsoever. What i mean is, i click the login on top right side of the main homepage, and get this "security check" before even seeing the email/password form, where you slide your mouse from left to right ...or do an "audio" thing where you type 6 numbers you hear. And when i click it, i get the green checkmark ...but it says "You are blocked. we couldnt load the security challenge" And the only way i can ever try again is to delete any/all "paypal" cookies from the browser. I've tried tons of times and it always keeps saying "we couldnt load the security challenge" after doing it successfully. I dont know what's going on, but this is the first time in my life i seen this happen. Does this have anything to do with the annoying Cloudflare crap that plagued all the browsers in recent months ?? Or is something serpent/new moon/mypal doesnt support all of a sudden now? - The last time i was able to login to my account was about a month ago or so, and never saw this happen before until now. VistaLover Posted August 20 Posted August 20 @kuja killer Paypal-related issues have also appeared in the upstream forum: https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=32581 https://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?p=264391#p264391 Mixed reports from various users there, probably depending on their physical location; PayPal are conducting various A/B tests, it seems (read e.g. this PMForum thread ); user at the second link I posted thinks that it's NOT CloudFlare, but a PayPal-specific recaptcha (security check) that is NOT compatible with UXP-based browsers ... Can you try again with a fresh NM28 profile, where you block nothing? FWIW, with my ISP's Greek IP, I can access https://www.paypal.com/signin in NM28 at this very time without issue, but, as I don't have an account with them, can't proceed any further... 1
kuja killer Posted August 21 Posted August 21 (edited) Hmm i see... man this is extremely fustrating. Well i dont ever use any other browsers except the serpent, so i dont have any add-ons or anything at all with those other ones, i just downloaded them and immediately tried to go straight to the paypal homepage, and login... sometimes it automatically attaches a "local US EN" to the link by itself, sometimes not. probably because it knows i live in Arizona United States which is fine. I did also make sure to disable all add-ons and so on with Serpent too ...tried the icognito/private window too and no luck. I took some screenshots from all 3 browsers serpent - https://i.ibb.co/p6QhdLnF/challenge1.png - i got a screenshot when it shows the green "success" checkmark for a split second when doing the "slide your mouse left to right" or the audio one, before then immediately saying "could not load" mypal - https://i.ibb.co/gN02BHJ/mypal-challenge.png new moon/pale moon 28 (latest august 8 2025 from roytam1's links) - https://i.ibb.co/bRRMfGW6/challenge-pale-newmoon.png - this one somehow managed to show the email/password form at least once (when deleting all cookies and trying again) ...then it had a "hcaptcha" thing ..that succeeded fine... THEN it showed the stupid mouse sliding/audio one immediately after that....and then the stupid "we couldnt load" I also tried like using a "latest edge" user agent just in case that might of mattered or not (on serpent) - the first one from the top of this website: https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/the-latest-user-agent/edge ...that got the email/password form to show up...but it did the same thing as new moon/pale moon... started with hcaptcha prompt which goes through...followed by the damn mouse sliding one and "couldnt load, blocked" Edited August 21 by kuja killer
VistaLover Posted August 21 Posted August 21 (edited) @kuja killer , follow up: Some 2 hours after my previous post, my modem-router had to be restarted (details that necessitated that are OT here), so my ISP assigned a new IP address to my internet connection; whether this is somehow relevant or a sheer coincidence, I have no idea ... Today, after reading your latest reply, I tried to re-access https://www.paypal.com/signin (as I had done yesterday) with the same NM28 copy as before; and guess what? I was hit by the same breakage you reported: I additionally have a page header instructing me to: "Please enable JS and disable any ad blocker" but JS is enabled and uBlock Origin (legacy) completely disabled; as you detailed in your post, sliding the blue button to the right (to "prove you're a human") turns it for half a second into green (with a white tick), but then the "you've been blocked" (in Greek, in my case) page appears... It is then impossible to access the proper sign-in page ... I opened Dev Console (which PayPal detected and did NOT like ) : but nothing stands out there for me... On the same machine (with the same IP address), browsers like r3dfoxESR-115.13.0 (or even the most current, r3dfox-140.0.4) will also be presented with the human verification challenge, but is then successfully passed, after which a redirection takes place to the sought-after sign-in page... So, PayPal have started requiring "a feature" (JS, CSS, both) that is to be found on relatively (more) recent Firefox incarnations, but isn't found currently in UXP browsers (and MyPal); this is based on feature detection, so a SSUAO won't work, as noted... And yes, PayPal are using their "own" captcha: https://geo.ddc.paypal.com/captcha?..... Further researching this, Google have provided an alternative sign-in page, https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/us/home => https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/signin which loads for me straight away in both NM28 and St52; as said already, I don't have valid credentials to test whether one can successfully log-in, hopefully it'll work for you (assuming that signing-in to "www.sandbox.paypal,com" logs you, too, to "www.paypal,com") ... Regards ... Edited August 22 by VistaLover strikethrough sandbox.paypal 1
