That is why they give the pro version for free What is particularly perfidious is that the guys from Wise have probably deliberately hidden the information about the update status in order to avoid negative feedback. In previous versions, this update status was available. I consider this to be dubious and interpret this concealment tactic as a pretence of a sense of security on the part of the user. Reporting testing results targeting other operation systems should be done in the corresponding threads. Otherwise, this would only lead to misunderstandings and confusion here in this thread. Nevertheless, I do state the full system requirements for every programme I write an article about here. However, that does not mean that experiences with other operating systems should be posted here in this thread. Only what relates to Windows XP is relevant here. Therefore, I welcome any experiences related to security programmes under the operating system we are exclusively talking about in this thread. This is valuable information and will help others to decide how to organise their protection under this old operating system. This thread also needs regular information about the current status of all programmes presented here so that the lists from the posts #2, #3 and #4 are always as up-to-date as possible. It is definitely not a fully fledged antivirus or antimalware programme. Therefore, I personally would use it only as an on-demand scanner to get a second opinion even though the premium version offers a real-time protection after all which is either paid for or realised through a giveaway license. Zemana Anti-Malware uses cloud engines for local scanning. Thus, no local definition updates are needed but logically a working internet connection. What kind of scan engines it uses in these days is kept rather secret. There seem to be several, but the company's information policy is modest and rather disinformative. I have the impression that they don't want to show their cards anymore contrary to the past. Furthermore, the current version 3.2.28 is listed as XP-compatible. This is simply nonsense and misleading. All versions 3.x start directly with an error message under Windows XP and are therefore not XP-compatible. The good is the much older version 2.74.2.150 still works flawlessly under Windows XP in these days which has just been tested again by me. I don't use the "Real Time" (they offer "Real Time" )but only the portable "On Demand" free scanner because I can not afford to purchase any license right now and it just works. You have the option to select a trial for personal use that will last for 1 month but that can be reset by a simple reedit and removal of all traces, but I don't do that anymore and I allow the nag to upgrade but my machine hasn't been infected in ages now because I usually look at the same old mundane nonsense every day. EDIT: Sorry about the late edit but I realized I didn't really give enough information and it bothers me to leave something incomplete. That's really nice of you to say, but what good are these screenshots going to do me? As I said, I installed RogueKiller on my computer many months ago. I know the interface very well, and your screenshots are unfortunately pretty meaningless without additional information. Much more important would be experience in using RogueKiller, information about the version you are using (portable or not, premium or free), your operating system, RAM and CPU utilisation, when RogueKiller is running, in terms of possible loss of performance, and in any case, to list both positive and negative points. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Stating the duration of a custom scan without the amount of files examined is unfortunately completely meaningless. 11 min for 1 GB, 11 min for 10 GB, or 11 min for 100 GB would lead to completely different evaluations.
