Actually this is my discovery, so should be polite to mention me. And I still do not have any answers why the much beloved russian (KGB or not) repackers "missed" out that important part completely. Which is available in Chrome 89.

It would be interesting to check whether the port blocking to prevent NAT Slipstreaming attacks is in progress in this browser as well.

MSFN members can use the same test link, and modify it for the various ports, which I posted in the other thread.

The mistake is:

 

ERR_UNSAFE_PORT

It is interesting to note that in Chrome-based browsers there is no possibility to block a port that is currently not blocked, such as 10080.
But only the ability to enable doors to block with the flag below:

 

--explicitly-allowed-ports=69,137

360Chrome v13 bocks port 10080 according to https://example.com:10080/

In Chrome 89 you only get the error:

ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

symptom that the port 10080 is not locked.

I've tried in XP and it seems to work quite well.

You don't need to "install" it.

And I use the "360Loader" from 360Chrome to run it as a "portable".

Extract the "MiniBrowserSetup_1071.exe" installer file using 7-Zip.

You then only need the "bin" folder.

Copy the 360Chrome folder over to a new location.

It should contain only "360Loader.exe", "360Loader.ini", and a folder called "Chrome".

Copy the "bin" folder into the "Chrome" subfolder.

Edit the "360Loader.ini" file - here is what I am using -

I assume you are asking about x86 SP2 (I ran it in x64 SP2 just fine), I personally don't run (nor need) x86 SP2 so have no way of testing.

But I have a strong hunch that yes, you need x86 SP3.

I also personally avoid POS updates and stick with EOL.

POS updates broke several of my applications and it wasn't worth the time to track down which updates were the root cause.

I didn't do any extensive testing, but enought to show that I plan to stick with 360Chrome v13 build 2206 at least for now.

I disable webgl in my browsers for default browsing but benchmark with webgl enabled - MiniBrowser crashed while 360Chrome did not.

And I "demand" a full-time STATUS BAR which is rare these days, I know, but I'm keeping that full-time STATUS BAR forever, if possible, no d@mn popup "bubble".

Working on XP x86 SP3,, extreme 360 crash time to time no matter options marked/unmarked while using youtube.. i believe is because  ublock origin addon, not really sure yet..

anyway don't like the telemetry idea, many ip calling chinesse sites, also tried the "repacked" russian version which force some site into Ru languague, i believe they force/modified the local setting to make chrome believe i am in Rusia, don't like the idea to be traslating sites like hotmail, etc ..youtube also display some menus in ru languague... don't really like this....My Pal freeze while using facebook and other sites no matter plugin to manage the memory resource it always freeze sometime, unresposible and only way to finish it is to shutdown the process with Ctl+Alt+Del

so i'm looking for a better alternative.. 360 work ok, only problem is the ramdom crash and suddenly shutdown itselft and ask to reload it..chinese and rus do the same, also tried newer chinese version which also has the US languague on most part of the UI, and crash as wel... so will test this mini browser and see what happends,

is there any oficial website to keep updating with the mini browser version ??

For 360Chrome, I personally don't recommend anything newer than version 13 build 2206 for the "repack".

Anything newer is "broken" as far as being used as an ENGLISH browser.

360Chrome v13 build 2206 has never crashed for me since upgrading Stylus to v1.5.17, I would get constant crashes during style edits on earlier versions of Stylus.

I don't use uBlock Origin, I prefer uMatrix (development ended in late 2020 but it has matured to the point of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it").

using 13 build 2206 you recomended and gets worse, some websites are displayed in rusian even i have selected english, even translating some dialog parts still in rus for example in youtube

I have 360Chrome (or 360Browser, whatever...), the latest version and I noticed that the history list doesn't seem to be updating itsself after a while, meaning that I only see websites that I visited yesterday, not the ones from today.

However, when I click on this history icon on the toolbar, the first two entries are the last two webpages I visited, so it does keep track after all, you just can't find these entries in the complete history list.

Of course I've tried to delete the whole list and see what happens and the history list does exactly what I expect it to do until there are "too many" entries, then it just won't update itsself any longer.

But naturally, I don't know how many entries are too many...

Another question:
It connects to all kinds of chinese institutions etc. (yes, I've read this thread) but I'm wondering if there is an easy way to avoid that on Windows XP.

Firewalls should be able to do it but I can't find any free firewalls which block outgoing ip-addresses or even ip-ranges.
