but still connects directly for extension updates from Chrome store

Ooops, that wasn't the case...it just uses update.googleapis.com instead of clients2.google.com. All documentation points to the latter... The way query is sent to that URL is different and response is in JSON rather than XML, which I haven't quite figured out yet. I prevented it from connecting to Google, but haven't got it to use local extension respository.

Is it a secret? I certainly can't find anything about it.

CUP protocol...oh well, no auto-updates from local repo then...not auto-updating from Google / MS unconditionally is already much better than how it is by default.

I block in my host file as I recall 360 Chrome tries also to connect.

There is a bug in the current version of Edge that prevents the removal of all cookies.
Instead, single removal would be possible.
This bug is already fixed with the Canary version.
I just sent feedback yesterday.
After the feedback I had to deal with a strange “Edge feedback” cookie that I was able to remove with difficulty.
Sent more feedback.

Not many people pay attention to cookies.
I have long placed a “button” in favorites bar and always check for any persistent cookies, when I start the browser.
I have a list of 8 cookies that I have blocked in third parties as well.

Not only do I "pay attention" to cookies, but also the CONTENTS of those cookies!  (which I cannot show "in full" because people that know how to use PROXOMITRON could then LOG IN AS ME on MSFN)

By knowing how to modify the CONTENTS of cookies, I do not need separate "browser profiles" to (as an example) be logged into Gmail but NOT be logged into YouTube from within the same browser and same profile.

Even I in Edge do not use different profiles.
My one profile is already the most secure and restrictive profile.
For my needs it is not very useful to use multiple profiles also because the compartmentalization in Edge is less efficient than what can be achieved in Firefox.
I also have several exceptions in UBO/AdGuard Adblocker for web compatibility.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time or inclination to fix one problem that happens in my Edge,in online payments.
Sending notification and approval with a 6-digit code in a smartphone banking app to authorize that on line payment.

Which instead with Firefox I am able to authorize.
