glnz
Dave-H: My current muweb.dll is the same version as the one at your link. Both version 256, with the same modified date. But I share everyone's frustration with Microsoft Update - totally erratic whether or not I get the error code.
Dclem
Although I just registered today, I have been following this thread for quite sometime. Yesterday afternoon, I went to Microsoft update and viewed the security updates posted for my operating system, Windows XP home, that were available, although I did not download and install them. I wanted to wait until I could read the knowledge base notes on what was being installed. This morning, my machine had automatically downloaded the updates and I then was able to review the knowledge base notes prior to installing. All the updates were installed and I then began testing to see if any conflicts or problems were detected. So far, everything has went smoothly and it appears all is well. I had previously installed the unofficial update to repair the jagged fonts. After installing the updates, I checked the windows directory and observed that the win32k.sys file version has been updated to 5.1.2600.6755 dated February 26, 2015. To answer the question posed earlier, yes, I had the unofficial update installed, the new update has updated the win32k.sys file on my machine. Guest
The current 0x80248015 problem with the Microsoft Update website is easily remedied by changing the system date to 2014-11-16 when accessing the site. Change it back when finished. Edited March 11, 2015 by 5eraph

dencorso
So far, there's been no notice of any PC morphing into a purple mushroom and exploding shortly thereafter, AFAIK...
egrabrych
Microsoft Update doesn’t inform about the updates for .NET Framework:KB3037577 (.NET 2.0 SP2) and KB3037578 (.NET 4.0)described in Microsoft Security Bulletin MS15-041. These updates, in the version for Windows Server 2003 x86, can be downloaded and installed manually. There’s a third update: KB3037572 (.NET 1.1 SP1), impossible to install without an alternation analogous to the one for KB2931352. Should the update KB3037572 also be installed in Windows XP? Dave-H
All five of the updates offered on both my machines have installed apparently with no issues (one was for the Office 2007 compatibility pack).Interesting that there are apparently .NET updates that weren't offered. There were certainly updates for the frameworks on Windows 8.1.I'm wondering whether to seek them out and install them manually on XP or not. roytam1
KB3046306 update in April Patch Tuesday seems to be buggy. I had 2 times of system freeze after installing it.

I reminded here, issued a year ago KB2931352 patch because her installation in Windows XP require modification described in the initial part of this topic.Installation in Windows XP patch KB3037572 also requires such a modification. Release of amendments: KB2972207 (MS14-053) and KB2978114 (MS14-072) actually I overlooked
Bersaglio
Which updates for .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 are still relevant until today?KB2931352KB2972207KB2978114KB3037572 Taking a closer look at the file sizes (WindowsServer2003-KB2931352-x86-ENU.exe and so on for W2K3) looks like latest 3 are still relevant. Who can made a corresponding modified updates for XP?
