This is interesting ... Green Bank, West Virginia is situated in the middle of the National Radio Quiet Zone so all all electromagnetic signals are banned within the zone including WiFi and cellphones. The zone was set up to protect the world's largest radio telescopes from electronic interference.

I wonder how they enforce that ... must be a tough place to be a teenager, no cellphone calls or texting till you get clear of the 13,000 square mile National Radio Quiet Zone.

"Green Bank, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, falls in the middle of the 13,000 square mile National Radio Quiet Zone.

Here, mobile phones, radio and TV transmitters and Wi-Fi are forbidden to prevent interference with one of the world's largest radio telescopes."

Another EHS sufferer, former bank vice-president Deborah Cooney said she felt she was being 'slowly poisoned' back in San Diego, California.

The 50-year-old said her symptoms developed after hundreds of Wi-Fi enabled smart meters were installed next to her home in 2011.

Deborah said: 'It began with a constant ringing in my ears. I couldn't sleep in the house anymore and felt sick all the time.

'Any food I brought into the house would make me feel ill. I got heart palpitations.

'It was like I was slowly being poisoned.'

Even her pet cat Mimi, a purebred Himalayan, became ill from the harmful radiation she believed had been emitted from the smart meters, she added.

Maybe they removed all the cell towers in that area, preventing phones from working anyways. What do they do then in emergencies, yell really loud? Fire a flare gun?

My bet is they just use their landline phone.

Or, use a blanket and a smoldering fire.

OK ... so they have smoke signals, drums, landlines, flashing mirrors to signal to the next mountain, carrier pigeons ... did I leave anything out ???

I still say if there are any teens living there, it has to be rough ... everywhere else, normal teens looking at their cellphone every 5 seconds, tapping messages out constantly ... but not if you live in that area!

"Instead of cellphones and iPads, residents of the NRQZ use landline phone services and pay phones (both are linked in case you don’t know what those are) for day-to-day communication."

"Not all radio transmissions are prohibited in the Radio Quiet Zone. For example Citizen's Band radios, police and ambulance radios, and fire department radios are used there."

It'd probably be nice to live there. Being able to go out in public and not see every single person you pass have their nose buried in a smartphone.

That's actually not that bad.

The real issue is when you don't realize that they are using a bluetooth earpiece and you think you are surrounded by crazy people that talk (and often yell) at themselves.

Haha jaclaz, you're right about that! I've already been fooled and thought someone was talking to me and I asked them what they wanted and then he pointed to his ear piece and I'm like "oh". lol

Yep, there is a known comic actor here in Italy that makes a nice gag about having the earpiece on while going to a public lavatory and the people around him think he is talking to his male attribute, something along the lines of:

Hi, it's a lot of time.

Are you feeling better now?

Sure, there is nothing like some fresh air, being able to breath freely...

Good, I can perfectly understand how you feel....

Personally I'd be glad to have no cell phones in my area. I personally don't use mine much, and can't stand the people who test all the time in the hallway, get me late to class sometimes :realmad: . (walk around would be a simple answer if they didn't go into these packs that take the whole hallway)

I think we already talked about this subject, form my memory.

It is called high frequency sounds, when you take an airplane, and you hear your ears pop, you are losing the ability to hear different frequencies.

I believe the story, in relations to those sounds from televisions, radio, cell phones, computer hard drives ( especially scuzzies ), and so forth. Various devices in neighborhoods including

telephone poles, can also admit these sounds.

They are right for banning the Wifi-crap in the area, because they have too much Radio crap in that area. Once again they are right. Gotta go....
