Just do this:

* {  min-width: 0 !important;}

This isn't the "proper" method since it's the slowest one but it will work

It's weird. Earlier this week, I stopped getting notifications on the "Deeper Impressions" thread only (AFAIK; notifications did keep coming in on some other subscribed threads) but now I'm getting them again.

Yesterday, or in the last 12-20 hours or so the board was slow as can be. At this writing it is fast as ever.

Some kind of maintenance or maybe something done at Invision?

Drastic board slowdowns are becoming very frequent - for an hour or more at a time up to several times a day. Sometimes it just won't load at all. This has happened over the several days or so. The other boards I visit are not having the issue, being accessed on the same hardware and browser at the same time in different tabs, even the ones based on the same, or similar, versions of IP Board software, so it seems to be more of a server issue. It seems I am not alone in seeing this issue, but I haven't seen any comments from the staff as to the possible problem or if a solution is forthcoming. Any info anyone can share?

Strange -- I went on my main PC to visit this thread (from an e-mail notification, which is working again), and page loading was slow as molasses. Blank browser window, saying "Connecting..." up in the tab. After a while of this I went to another PC and tried to go to MSFN, and I received the dreaded "An error occurred with the SQL server" message with the red background. Then, within a second, MSFN finally finished loading on the first PC.

The first thing I look at when the site is slow is the number of visitors. The site is nice and fast now and we have around 2,500 total users on. Also the site seems never to be slow in the morning when I get here, but in the evening (prime time) it seems a bit slower.

It may be useful to use a website such as, e.g.;

http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/

to get a handle on whether the Board server is serving pages

faster or slower, by comparing the download times for (all the elements

of) your chosen MSFN webpage, at different times, to that websites

server, instead of only testing download times to your computer (and

only through your ISP's server).

(Note, it may also be a better testing methodology to test by inputting

the URL of a 'not often served' MSFN webpage, rather than say,

' www.msfn.org ', which would be served so continuously by the Board

server that you would expect that webpage to be continuously present

in it's server cache.)

You can try going to the XP Unattend guide in this case:

I do not know if it uses a db on that part of the site, but the main site index isn't really cached because it pulls those news stories from the database.

Your suggestion has merit - I'm sure you can understand I didn't want to

suggest a specific obscure MSFN webpage, as, well, then it may well be

accessed by a large number of Guests regularly, so it's not obscure any

more... and might be regularly found in the server cache...

(My last paragraph you quoted was more my afterthought, as I thought if

you are going to occaisionally test the time it takes to serve a MSFN

webpage, might as well try and make it a worst more difficult case test -

retrieving and serving the webpage (data) more likely from the server disk,

rather than most likely from the server cache.)
