wimb Posted April 10, 2021 Posted April 10, 2021 (edited) Thanks for version 4.6.0.1 WofCompress is running fine now in separate command window. Mouse Left click = Pause and Esc Or Right Click = Continue Ctrl + C = Stop Very useful for Offline Windows to Reduce Used Size Edited April 12, 2021 by wimb
JFX Posted April 11, 2021 Author Posted April 11, 2021 Glad it works now. The command window is separate process you can close WinNTSetup while it's running. The Wofcompress.exe tool is merge in and can be also used from command line: WinNTSetup_x64.exe wofcompress. 1
Sonic Posted April 23, 2021 Posted April 23, 2021 (edited) would be nice if critical driver injection can be done in Windows\system32\Recovery\WinRE.wim ! just installed an hp laptop intel 11th gen wich need driver injection of "intel rst vmd" because win10 out of the box doesn't detect disk ... driver integration ok , but "reset this pc" fails at reboot. JFX Posted April 24, 2021 Author Posted April 24, 2021 Yes, I'll add an option for WinRE driver integration. Just not sure how to identify critical from non critical drivers.
Sonic Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 there is a line in WinNTSetup.Drivers.log : 2021-04-24 20:29:30, Info DISM DISM Driver Manager: PID=26656 TID=29716 Driver E:\install\Driver injection\...\iaStorVD.inf is boot-critical. - CDriverPackage::FillInPackageDetails then select only *.inf boot-critical to re-apply to winre.wim , easy to write but to you to code 1
JFX Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 WinNTSetup 4.6.1 - fixed wofcompress process did not start - new driver mode option to integrate into WinRE - driver mode option saved to ini - wimlib capture appends date time in case to avoid duplicate image name - ini option WimCaptureAddTimeStamp added WinRE driver integration is not yet default, click on the "D" button and check WinRE option
Sonic Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 is winre.wim checked in path \Recovery\WinRE\winre.w im too ? useful for backup/restore on another hardware.
JFX Posted April 27, 2021 Author Posted April 27, 2021 No, it expects a generalized source with \Windows\System32\Recovery\WinRe.wim. But you could use driver integration from "Local Windows Installations" window, which let's you browse for WinRe.wim.
click-click Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 (edited) I'm getting a crash dump on Win7 x64 when selecting Local Windows Installations. Works okay on 64-bit Win8, Win10 and 32-bit Win7 (v4.2.5.0). I can provide a dump if needed. Edited April 28, 2021 by click-click
JFX Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 (edited) Hmm, please try these 2 exe files: testversion.7z Edited April 28, 2021 by JFX
click-click Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 (edited) Same problem with WinNTSetup_x64.exe. I get a different error with the OE version. I could not find the indicated error file. Edited April 28, 2021 by click-click 1
JFX Posted April 28, 2021 Author Posted April 28, 2021 (edited) Thanks, think I found the reason: testversion2.7z Edited April 28, 2021 by JFX
click-click Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Both working now. I'm curious what caused this since it worked okay on the other 64-bit systems. 1
