Hi Mim0,

i noticed that HFSLIP didn't slipstream some optional KB during the process:

WindowsXP-KB2524375-x86-ENU.exe

0 file(s) copied

WindowsXP-KB2562937-x86-ENU.exe

0 file(s) copied

WindowsXP-KB967715-x86-ENU.exe

0 file(s) copied

KB961742-v3.exe

0 file(s) copied

For KB967715, it was replaced by KB2483185 (shell32.dll)

For KB961742-v3, the only way to slipstream this KB is to move it to the HFSVCPACK_SW1 directory.

For KB2524375 & KB2562937 (replaces KB2508272) no idea about what doing...

Thanks for your hard work.

kooky,

in case of KB2524375 & KB2562937 it's perfectly OK since these updates make only changes in the registry and don't install any files.

regarding shell32.dll you're right. But KB967715 adds also a reg-entry (HonorAutorunSetting). If you use a reg-file with this setting, you can remove KB967715 from the HF-folder.

For KB961742-v3, the only way to slipstream this KB is to move it to the HFSVCPACK_SW1 directory.

Thx for the info. Does anyone knows what the problem is?

i will wait for KB961742-v3 :)

because I don't use it I cannot say much about this. I've searched here inthe forum and found just a posting from Kiki where he said that he put KB961742-v3 to HF.

Do you install XP in a VM under Windows 7? If not, probablöy it's better to use this udpate not.

But if you found out it belongs to HFSVCPACK_SW1 I should update my update-list and the file-checker.

I checked KB961742-v3. It won't work because most of the files are located in a sub-folder in sp3qfe called "ip" and HFSLIP won't copy them to the Windows source.

It should be placed in HFSVCPACK_SW1.

Be aware,

i realized some tests on a VM, when you move KB961742-v3 to HFSVCPACK_SW1, at the first startup of windows when you logon, the my documents window open up. And each time you logon this window appears...

This KB is definitely strange.

A solution is to make a cab in HFGUIRUNONCE to install silently at first logon.

Like Mim0 said, if you don't use WinXP on a VM under Win 7, don't use it ;)

I do use include and have no problems.

BTW. do you install any third party software?

Have you checked the startup line with Autoruns?

Do you put KB961742-v3 to HF? tomasz realized that KB961742-v3 in HF has no effect.
