yes, i totally agree with XPero man... the way Nuhi does it with Nlite and Vlite si teh way to go IMHO.

and then we can always make a page for the addons on the XPize site.

and setting it back to version 1.0? hmm, maybe tahts a good idea? XPero?

Well, the new architecture allows for something like this.

Though, from what I understand, its not entirely the same thing. I believe that we will be checking for quality and compatibility if we were in charge of what gets into the program.

I'm think that our current method is more beneficial. Not sure how the add-on architecture would work. Seems like a nice idea, but what will happen if the program breaks or stuff goes wrong (quality checking) ?

Remember to post back :) !!

EDIT:: [[yes, I was wrong]]

Talked to W3bbo about it, check it out:

(preliminary)

--xpize and Vize are both distributions with their respective packages

--after they're installed people can download and add other packages... assuming people want to distribute only the packages and not the software

--people are free to make their own distributions (program + package), but I'm not sure how that work work if you installed two different ones on the same system

--quality testing? I've got a VPC box and time

and then there's public betas... all that

:hello:

Hello again I do not believe they disappeared.

I am aware of everything, and moving a little with the code making xis 1.1.

I work doing the installer and Vize XPize.net

Well, I think we need a forum hidden among us to show the progress of each person or idea.

This advance before launching a final XPize :D

Well I hope their views

I am ready to create a forum hidden in my Web

niwradsoft, why don't you join our CodePlex page?

The Codeplex page has areas for bug reports, management people, and discussion forums. Before the project is public, perhaps you can use that page to better communicate with us.

Here: http://www.codeplex.com/

Let us know when you've joined and we'll gladly add you to the project people ;) !!

is the project now published?

We're putting off publishing until the last minute (sometime around the 20th August) so we can clean up and get everything ready.

I've just been so bogged down with normal work I'm finding it hard to get the time to work on xpize. But I promise it will be done...eventually.

UPDATE::

W3bbo has made the NEW website !! Go onto xpize's homepage and take a look :) [ http://www.xpize.net/index.php ]

Great props to him for a complete revamp of the site !! Feedback and comments and greatly appreciated ;) . The website will continue to experience changes. Please be patient and let us make 'em.

The rumours of xpize's demise have been greatly exaggerated! Almost a year since the release of the last update to XPize (4.7b2) a new release is on the horizon.

...and this release will be bigger and better than ever before!

xpize 5 (now all lowercase because it's fashionable) will see the codebase rewritten in C# to remove the dependence on ResHacker and enable further improvements.

Well, it's more than a rewrite. It's a total re-organization. More details will be forthcoming in the next few days. But we're aiming for a release date around Mid-September 2008.

XPize 4.7b2 and earlier editions will still be available, so don't worry.

EDIT::

vize Website revamp will come soon ;) !!

**Anolis publication will be here in about a week !!

Actually, I'm afraid we may have to move the xpize 5 release date to October, potentially November.

Y'see... in August I need to finish redoing my LAN and Active Directory (Thanks to a mistake I made in Q1 2005), then in September I'll be away for 2 weeks on holiday, probably Sicily, and then I'm off to University (Birmingham UK, Computer Science) on the 22nd September. All whilst doing this I need to spend a lot of time on getting my unrelated businesses working and providing a steady stream of income to support my studies.

I think I'll aim for an alpha or beta release in late-September with a solid RTM following extensive testing in November.

Modifications to make it work for Vize should be minimal. I anticipate Vize II in December, more likely January.

Great news! :D

I can't wait for this lovely stuff :D

Maybe i soon can go back to Windows XP now...without having the outdated design coming from the original XP :D

Will there be support for XPize integration to XP-installation disc?

prebenandre,

Most likely, we will have it. It is one of the biggest features of the original architecture.

BUT !! I can't speak for everyone on the team. W3bbo is the project lead and will be programming the crux of the new architecture. Many others will be able to add packs (again, nothing's set in stone here) and have swappable themes and styles into it.

I am not completely sure how the new architecture (built on C#) will translate into slipstreaming. But, if it isn't in the first new 5.0 (alpha/ beta), we might/ will be looking to add it into the future.

First is first:: Get the program set, architecture written, and have it's ability to patch the OS perfect to near 4.x effect or greater. After, we will add features and stuff that will make XPize's/ Vize's capabilities expanded.

Right now, just be patient. The program will be worked on, no doubt about that ;) .

Hi guys,

Thanks for the invitation however after some careful thinking I have chosen to decline your offer.

I wish you all good luck in continuing the XPize project.

Thanks for the reply, zedox.

Remember if you ever change your mind at a future time, contact us ;) .

And, also remember that you can perhaps still contribute to XPize 5.0 by developing **add-on packs** (from what I understand, similar to nLite's style) for your Darkside (or more) once the architecture and the program is finalized. Just keep an open mind to the possibilities :) .

To download XPero's source code files:

Hi everyone,

I need to take on a theming project and was hoping to use the XPize Installer System.
The link to the OneDrive account is still active, but the quoted link above is broken.
Does anyone know if there is somewhere I can find the XIS.zip source?

Thanks,

Which link to which onedrive account?

The XIS.ZIP can be got through the Wayback Machine:

From the "mirror":

But isn't it superseded by the anolis thingy?
