Well first off, can you RDP via your current IP address? It also looks like their service works by a program running on the server that keeps in contact with this no-ip service, so that it knows your current IP to assign your domain to. Have you also tried an nslookup for your domain? I don't know how you would do this. The DNS is not kept on your server, it is kept on no-ip's name servers I imagine. Have you tried contacting them?

Just Done a memtest, and im getting failures every other second, so i'm assuming its the memory thats faulty. But it costs more me to replace the memory that what the server is worth, waste of a server really! Hmmm... let me put things together... memory needs to be in pairs... replacement memory costs more than the system... this sounds like my old computer! Which used first-gen RAMBUS where 2x1GB sticks cost about $700 last I checked! Its a little cheaper now I think as time goes on but I have already moved on away from that (except I still have that system) now my main PC uses DDR2.

That's because the OP has made an error. There is no 965GNT board, but there is a 945GNT: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D945GNT/

WD - PCB replacement + pictures

Haha this thread reminds me of when I went to college to learn to repair and maintain mainframes, oddly enough that ciriculum was dropped in the last semester of my schooling, so I learned a bunch of stuff I've never had to use before! -
Help With Windows 7 And Drivers
Tripredacus replied to marcusj0015's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
Well what you use is totally up to you. I just use DISM and imagex for everything, but I can't use some of the other tools like vLite or such because I use this at a business. I just learned to do it with DISM and it is what I know best. -
Unable To Connect Online With Fresh Install
Tripredacus replied to Redhatcc's topic in Windows Server
I imagine you have already disabled the IE protection service? By default Server OS will not let you access the internet, however Windows Updates should work (outside of IE) and even so, IE will tell you that the protection is turned on if you try to go anywhere. This protection will also stop you from going to "internal pages" of hardware devices such as 3Ware or Routers. -
XP Pro not saving wireless network settings
Tripredacus replied to TheReasonIFail's topic in Windows XP
You can try restarting the Wireless Zero Configuration service. However this may be disabled if you are using a program instead of Windows to manage your wireless. If this doesn't work, maybe try using the software for your NIC to do it instead. -
The stop error was not consistent from the XP CD. Your suggestion unfortunatly of creating an image for each different peice of hardware would take me back 5 years of development . I currently have 1 single image supporting 12 different laptops from various manufacturers and over 20 desktop models. Your suggestion would mean I would be supporting nearly 30 different images instead of one. In a corporate environment this is resource suicide for someone managing images. I guess it depends on how you approach it. I currently manage well over 200 XP images without a problem. Its up to you in the end how you want to do it, If Windows 7 comes out for you soon, I agree going back and redoing your XP work will be a waste of time.

Yes you can feel free to read through that topic, however we will NOT help you if you are using a pirated version of Vista, as your post says.

Some service is likely trying to use that file. First thing to try is create a txt file with that name and put it in that folder. Then mark it as read only. Maybe that will make the error go away. However if the file is blank you may get a new error, but maybe one with more info to track the exact cause. If this program came on a disc, you can try looking for an INI on there and copy it to that location and give it that name.

Woot = think another version of "Whoo Hoo!" or "Yay!" = sticking his tounge out at you = this guy is confused to the point his eyes are spinning around. = this guy sees something wierd, shocking or surprising. Can also be expressed as a "double-take" = this guy is winking at you, nudge nudge, say no more = This one is not like the ascii symbol. When searching for programs that work without installing, use Google to search for "portable" which is the common term for such a program. When I searched for "portable iso mounter" I found this place, which lists a few different ones that other people have used: http://portableapps.com/node/7201

It occurred to me today that I never tested playing a DVD in my computer since upgrading to Windows 7 Pro x86. So I tried it out but I only got sound out of the subwoofer and the front speakers. Nothing out of the rears or center at all. It isn't a real big deal, since I have a PS3 I can watch DVDs on there instead, but it was annoying me that it wasn't working. Here are some details: Soundcard: Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Gamer PCI Drivers: SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0011 The first thing I noticed upon setup of 7 initially was that the Creative Audio Console did not allow me to control the surround sound like in XP. I had to use the Windows Sound Setup to select 5.1 speakers, and I DO get all the correct sounds out of the correct speakers when I run the test. As an example, Winamp plays music through all the channels but won't play a DVD. I did a little research already, but mainly found beta or RC related topics. One option was to choose the "enhancements" option for WMP but this option is not present! Another was to download the shark's codecs but I don't want to do that. I've tried setting the Creative software to use CMSS 3D but that did not change anything. Any other ideas?

Unattend Start Menu options?
Tripredacus replied to Tripredacus's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
VMs for testing until you re-test on hardware? Seems like this would be something that would be perfect for VM testing. While I agree that such generic things like this could be tested without the correct hardware, because it is a custom image I'd rather wait for the correct config to rule out any problems. And I haven't ever tested in a VM as I have dedicated testing computers as well as the ability to request in-house systems. -
Help With Windows 7 And Drivers
Tripredacus replied to marcusj0015's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
From what I can tell, any driver you inject into a Windows 7 install.wim only gets installed if the hardware that uses that driver are present. There is only one caveat, as DISM does not check to see if you have support for that device already, aka you can inject multiple versions of the same driver into an image. To test, what I do is install 7 on a PC, then take note of what devices are not installed, and if Standard VGA Controller or High Definition Audio device are present, and then put those drivers into the image. I use hardware IDs as my control so I do not put the same drivers in twice. -

What is the STOP error you get when installing with the CD? I'd recommend you use different images for XP per hardware config, especially in a corporate environment.

There are two options to set for allowing RDP. One is the legacy and one is the more secure mode. Which do you have selected? Are they both the same on both machines? You can also try adding each computer's account (that you use for RDP) into each other's Administrators group as COMPUTERNAME\USERNAME.

Just a question, since there are few programs that react to running procmon.exe (or other tools from MS SysInternals) but one I know is SecuROM. If you have any games installed, see if they still open too. Of course, a reboot nullifies SecurROM's behavioural oddities...
