  1. Bezalel Thanks for getting me closer with that for my MCE 2005 You just cleared it up for me what I needed for no activation BS although my Pid will be ok since this is legit. 1st Step was since i don't have a Royalty OEM MCE 2005 CD Gain access to HP_RECOVERY partition, done Now have access to all the files so I can copy the I386. Will be a lot of cleaning up in there though to remove the 40 games, limited Office, and other junk I don't want.
  2. The simplest answer to any of this is add CMD /C Start /Wait is the key, yeah it opens an ugly cmd window but it will WAITI hide it though I've found Start /Wait don't allways work With over 314 Apps I can choose for Install and some don't wait its been found to be a good thing StartX is another option but its a pain to make it work right allthough for Autoit's its a good thing to make them wait.
  3. YesBut this is one of those keys that you need to set it the way you like and export it cause it contains other things for Your machine. Go to this key and export the "ShellState"
  4. Alanoll Was not an Edit so it was definitely NEW. My post was only thing pending when I checked it I don't see anywhere in the guide how to replace Bliss for XP So I added to FAQ and Stated title as Replace Bliss on XP my Method here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=71469
  5. Heres something to play with but be careful with these HIVE*.inf, you'll find them in I386, those are read at end of file copy so its pretty early on. Theres a lot of other thins can be done early on but you'll have to do some researching for what you want to do.
  6. Djé was right, they just delete so whats the use of adding anything to that I know for fact that method works for XP home or Pro and have been using that since Version 3.1.2 of my own UACD app so thats been quite awhile.
  7. Ok I added it in FAQ but don't know if it took cause I don't see it. sorry, not used to that wiki thing Pending Requester Timestamp Description Request Commands maxXPsoft 2006-04-15 01:03:24 Replace XP Bliss Wallpaper add faq
  8. You mean replacing Bliss? My post method works, 100% and its not that hard to do. No bmps, no reg, just simple replace a jpg cabbed with another.
  9. Then you also need to modify winnt.sif [shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile = "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Themes\MyTheme.theme"
  10. Theres no way everything is covered, its impossible because theres still so much more to learn, his post's was on App's thats not covered. I haven't looked at the Guide in awhile cause I been too busy with my own stuff so don't know, tell me if this is covered in it? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=71469
  11. Ok I'll share another thing but it costs $100, pay up Delete BLISS.JP_ from I386 Copy your wanted Wallpaper .jpg to I386\BLISS.JPG << rename your paper to BLISS.JPG Open a cmd prompt in the I386 Thats it Yeah you can probably cab it before you copy it, duh Been using that for awhile
  12. Almost, can be what you're installing and the way you doing it. Point being if your system is stable then its rare to see a bluescreen in XP, just not the normal anymore. I have had them but they were self inflicted BTW, its not all in the guide, trust me. There's some things you have to figure out yourself and then do us a favor and post back what you discovered.
  13. thanks Djé But I can wait on the 1.6, prob not that far off. I just hate adding scripts cause sooner or later i'm script(full) or delightfull or one of those full's. Point being when you add so many you kinda loose track of where you goin and where you been and bing bada boom they done updated so back to modify what worked in the first place. Its the difference between a script which may crash somewhere down the line and -setDefaultBrowser, easy choice for me The reg works fine here
  14. And for the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would do it otherwise, anal retentive?, think they doin something thats different is best? Because that is so easy it ain't funny, put the stuff where it belongs and anything in the future knows what to do. What part of this do I not understand?I've been doing it the same way from 1.x, yes default Install with a twist Translated Well I'll be danged, complete with everything saved from a previous Install, everything, all my settings, bookmarks, plugins, passwords. I just click a checkbox and all thats done for me but you can see what needs done and modify to your Install and thanks again NuVanDibe for the reg, works for us defaulters Edit: The point of this being do things in the correct order. I'm sure when I decide to get 1.6 I'll use the -setDefaultBrowser
  15. NuVanDibe thanks That will be good for my method of Install
  16. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/default.mspx Yes I like it but will take some getting used to since I have used IE off and on from 3.0. Love/Hate thing What I have so far, feel free to add
  17. Yes Winnt.sif is probably the answer to the earliest execution. I don't remember offhand exactly when it does it cause it flashes so quickly. I have done a driver signing ignore at that point like this Probably depends on the exe you trying to run whether it will run at that point.Have fun
  18. I'll stick to my little Jump2Reg proggy cause it stores favs and a lot more. I'm just in there too much and don't need the bulk
  19. Had just come across that PCmag thing myself and was goona add it. No thanks though to that. As they say, heavy handed approach.
  20. Been awhile since i looked at this but I think its coded into a .dll so only way would be to hack that and remove what you don't want and pray they don't update the dll tomorrow.
  21. Each time you close it it writes whatever key to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\APPLETS\Regedit LastKey So no its not easy maybe only way would be a batch ran after you close it to write there.
  22. Make sure in Dosnet.inf it has under [Files] d1,drvindex.inf and in Txtsetup.sif under [sourceDisksFiles] drvindex.inf = 100,,,,,,_x,20,0,0 Dosnet.inf should be located in the I386 dir May be missing from them for some unknown reason, anyways the image will have to be redone if you add them entries.
  23. so the answer if you use Makeiso then is mkisofsargs -D -N -l -allow-leading-dots -allow-multidot -joliet -hide boot.bin -hide boot.catalog
  24. Been quite awhile ago but i'll try to look it up where i had this problem.
