Good reason to be in the US - Chrysler, General motors have a wide range of cheap cars.

I haven't noticed this thing yet, gotta check up on this - the moment I get home. I do know, that MS has PUBLICLY put up on its site, (somewhere in the evaluation or deployment/technet section, I'm don't have that good a memory so I've no no idea what I'd search for to turn it up, either) a set of keys each, for home and pro retail editions. They clearly say that these keys are for the sake of testing, and for organisations which are preparing to deploy Windows XP - the machine on which you use these keys, should be offline (not used for anything other than pre-deployment). These keys are explicitly offered to the IT resources people with the understanding that a machine using these keys shouldn't be used for real work/play/anything. They moreover also say that these are valid but non-activable keys (so that you can test/play around with it) - and won't be blocked in the future in the way the other pirate keys were. Those keys basically exist for the purpose that we are allowed to use it (*IF* you have WXP legally) when we test out windows deployments for a few days, on a stand-alone machine, and the keys are neither activable, nor can you access WindowsUpdate with it. EDIT: Saw those keys when I opened up the SP2 update (266 MB) using winrar. Go into the folder structure "i386\ip" and "i386\ic". Both have slightly different unattend.txt files, and both give different keys (usable with pro and home edition respectively, I think). I haven't yet checked whether these are the same keys as the "testing-only" keys I mentioned above. Hoping this helps to make the matter clearer........

SP2 - what to leave out now?
prathapml replied to Mike500's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Yessir!!!!In fact, we are also sure WMP9, and MovieMaker 2.1 are included. I don't know that reason for sure, but it might have something to do with the fact that not everybody who uses XP (Svr2k3 has .NET integrated) has a necessity for those - and those who do, can download/install it themselves. -
OK, here's a solution: You probably know this already, but the faxing features integrated into XP Pro are pretty good. Free. as well! If you haven't yet had a look at it, I'd recommend you do so. Go to "Add/Remove" Windows Components, and install "Fax Services". If that isn't sufficient, try upgrading to WinFAX 11 (the best, according to me). If it still is unsatisfactory, I'm sure you'll get a some more replies here regarding other alternative products.

Company Needs to stop employees surfing and gettin
prathapml replied to bashy's topic in Networks and the Internet
A written set of policies, which all employees are required to adhere to, failing which they are liable to action - that's got to help to _some_ distance atleast. -
Really good way to do things! Yup, this one's having me thinking......

10 Ways To Annoy Telemarketers: 10. When they ask "How are you today?" Tell them! "I'm so glad you asked because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems; my arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died..." (I did this one.. they finally hung up on me!!!) 9. If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Comp. Ask them to spell their name. Then ask them where it is located. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary. 8.Cry out in surprise "Judy! Is that you? Oh my gosh! Judy, how have you been?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few breif moments of pause as she tries to figure out where she could know you from. 7. If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up for the family and friends plan, reply, in as SINISTER voice as you can, "I don't have any friends...would you be my friend?" 6. If they want to loan you some money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and could use some money. (Did this one also.. they hung up REAL fast!!) 5.Tell the telemarketer you are on "home incarceration" and ask if they can send you a case of beer and some chips. 4. After the telemarketer gives their spiel ask him/her to marry you. When they get all flustered, tell them that you could not just give your credit card number to a complete stranger. 3. Tell the telemarketer you are busy at the moment and ask them if they can give you their HOME phone number so that you can call them back. When the Telemarketer explains that they cannot give out their HOME phone number, say "I guess you dont want anyone bothering you at home, right?" The telemarketer will agree and you will say "I guess you know how I feel!" say good bye-and hang up. (My favorite... they are left speechless!!!) 2. Insist the caller is really your buddy Leon, playing a joke. "Come on Leon cut it out! Seriously Leon, How's your mom?" And first and foremost: 1. Tell them to talk VERY SLOWLY, because you want to write EVERY WORD down.

Image vs Unattended | Pro's and Con's
prathapml replied to cableguy_uk's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Yes, imaging-wise, going with norton ghost images is not always the best: 1. Your ghost images can't be restored on dis-similar hardware. -
How Long have you gone without sleeping?

Now that you mention it, there's memories all over. Ah! didn't count me there, did you? -
You'll be able to see an explanation : here

OMG, why didn't we think along those lines before. I'm surely gonna experiment with Alcohol the way you suggested, the next time that I need to install it - and post back with results I find, if any.

Came across these fun statements. Reproduced here for your pleasure:

Would someone tell me where (in Control Panel?) I can enable this feature from?

Modified automobiles are cool when they have an engine geared for higher performance. Otherwise, I'd rather not drive a modified car, just for the heck of it.

I don't eat steak. And, *looks at self* nothing's wrong with me.

I like both (pepsi/coke), depends on my mood, as to which one I will have.

There is just some kinda difference between coke/pepsi, not very much. I like both, depends on my mood, as to which I will have.

Only 128 Kbits/sec here.

My AMD AthlonXP 2400+ (T-Bred core) would go all the way up to 68°C. At normal load, its at 56°C - which still is too high.
