@nkarnold Please don't post such INCREDIBLY LARGE amounts of text in a post. If you have to post it, then either use the [code ] tags (for smaller amounts of text) or attach it as a zipped file. But always its better to host the same file elsewhere and link to it instead, so we can download it and view it. Currently, the post is too large for anyone to be able to sanely look at it. Please look at the rules and follow some general consensual guidelines while posting. Hoping you'd understand - I don't mean to be impolite..... Will you please come back and edit the post to remove the txtsetup.sif contents and attach it instead? If you don't do so quickly, a moderator might need to come along and do it. EDIT: OW, xper already saw this thread before me, before I replied. Already said what I wanted to say.... So it means I didn't type and reply fast enough, LOL.
-
Right. No problem like that is happening to me here. @Mods So this is not a "Site and Forum issue"........ maybe this thread to be moved to a different section? @MCT Are you still having this problem? If you already checked what xper suggested, and its proper now, that's good. But if you are still having this error message, maybe I can help if you tell exactly when the message comes - is the site accessible on your terminal? Is the forums coming up (if not, then how did you post )? At what exact point (when you click button "X" or something...) does the message show up? Is the error shown in the site's page, or is it a dialog-box shown on your machine alone?

The warning is a security feature - its better to annoy users with a sod warning than let them lose all their data and/or network-bandwidth to a virus/worm. Both XP home and pro (of SP2) will have that warning. You can find a registry tweak to disable that warning in the "Registry Tweaks...." thread (search!).

Get the 56 KB dll that XPero is talking about (attached from this thread) - compiled source. Put the DLL in this folder: "$OEM$\$$\System32\" And run this command from the batch-files you use for unattended setup to tell windows on setup to register it: regsvr32 /s /i ContextMenuExt.dll
-
Well, that's actually supposed to have been asked in a board-related thread.... Anyway, here's a page that describes the tags you can use while posting - using the tags. And lets keep further discussion on topic please - how to post, and board-features related questions are explained if you see the help available in the forum (the botton in topmost bar, at the left-side).

DANG, going to the equator on this new map makes me feel cold... Brrrr!!!!!!!!

@XPero Hosted here, but this one's temporary as well - just some weeks, so all of you who want it, should take it soon! Needs to be compiled, and (statutory warning) I'm not sure if this source-code you got is non-malicious. Download : contmenuext.zip (9.21 KB)

Adobe Reader 6.02 silent install
prathapml replied to DisabledTrucker's topic in Application Installs
Having to either download a much bigger installer, from your hosting and therefore drain it, or download just a 50 KB MST file and use my already existing merged version. That's the difference. lol -
So the MoveTo thing still isn't solved! Here's a link to download the file that evilvoice sent. Use this one according to instructions given above by evilvoice (this file allows the Copy-To right-click option to work properly in Windows). This file hosted on temporary free server, so may not be up a few weeks later. Anyways, enjoy it while the going is good: CopyTo.ZIP (14 KB)

Adobe Reader 6.02 silent install
prathapml replied to DisabledTrucker's topic in Application Installs
Can't the "don't make PrintMe shortucts" setting be put into an MST? (just like you can do it for MS Office and such...) Not that I know how to do it - you leading here. That way, changes are minimal, and sharing is just a matter of a few KB download. -
about the IPB forum software
prathapml replied to prathapml's topic in Web Development (HTML, Java, PHP, ASP, XML, etc.)
Some bugs I noticed in PF3 (of IPB 2.0): Lots of alt-text to be used for the essential buttons (new topic, reply, etc.) has still been left out. Also, in the style-sheet, the topic-title block in each thread has a transparent background (which makes the topic-title unreadable unless you turn on viewing images in your browser). Also, the smilies used could do with some improved alt-text usage as well (instead of seeing 20 smilies with the text "Image", it'd be better to have the trigger listed, like having "lol" as the alt-text for the LOL emoticon, instead of the current one-fits-all text). The above is a major accessibility issue. Those who like to surf with images turned off will find a forum with default IPB 2.0 PF3 being used, pretty difficult. Those administrators who do use IPB forums on a large-scale of course, have customised the above to be the way it should. Even though IPB 1.3 has the same user accessibility problems described above, most big forum sites that use it have fixed those issues. For example, MSFN is working perfectly fine (none of the issues I described above here). I fixed the things I described above as well, for some forums where I'm responsible for what members see. I just hope Invision fixes these imperfect defaults in the final release, so that administrators of small sites who don't change from the defaults - can give their members a good experience too. I reported this at IPB's own forums as well, just posted this here so that those of the members here who have IPB-based forums will take note. This is not a complaint, just an observation by me. I repeat, MSFN itself has none of the problems described above, so its all good. -
boring question but crucial about graphic cards
prathapml replied to XtremeMaC's topic in Hardware Hangout
MSI is good on both performance and quality - and value. Opting for any card based on the nVidia GeForce FX5700 chipset would be the best decision to make at this point of time. Its not too under-performing, and priced well (so that you don't buy a high-end gfx card, and see your $200 cards turn up in shops for $80 - dropping price and your pride 3 months later). -
Adobe Reader 6.02 silent install
prathapml replied to DisabledTrucker's topic in Application Installs
@Lolly No, you can't just like that run "/QB" on the installer you downloaded. I wish it was that simple. I was referring to the updated installer saving us some effort.... Anyways, what you need to do: 1. Get the files extracted from the FEAD installer. 2. Start the install in admin-install-point mode (with /A switch). 3. RAR/SFX the resulting folder, use "/QB" switch when installing. How to do the above 3 steps? Please search - the above must've been discussed a zillion times by now.... Sheesh - I'm getting lazy, telling you people to do all the dirty work of searching and finding instead of telling it here myself - but its just that its tiring to repeat the same thing... -
Adobe Reader 6.02 silent install
prathapml replied to DisabledTrucker's topic in Application Installs
@RyanVM You Rule! Again, instructions for the slip-stream please? EDIT: Nevermind - it seems the final 6.0.2 full installer is available - http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/read...distrib_enu.exe (34.7 MB). -
It sure is, gregD. Welcome to the MSFN forums, and hope to see you around more often.

@evilvoice Yes, the tweak has caused the same problem for me as well. The INF file solves that problem you say? Please e-mail me the .inf as an attachment, and I'll host it for the rest of us (posting the link here). E-mail sent to you. You can reply with the INF attached (maybe zipped)!

Check out this thread - http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=70&t=13255. The procedure to be followed is pretty much the same for Nero 5.5 series as well.

Acrobat Reader 6 Lite & Fastest :D
prathapml replied to vohinhlangtu's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
When making the SFX using winrar, go to the Advanced Options, and set it to extract silently with no dialog-boxes to where you want. Then run the setup from the extracted location.Or, do this: 1. Paste the below code exactly as is into the "Comment" tab in winrar's "new Archive" dialog: ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Path=.\%systemdrive%\install\Applications SavePath Silent=1 Overwrite=2Just execute this file from CD with no switches, this step will extract files to where you want and keep it ready for install. 2. So now, if you compressed the entire folder and the folder's name was "AcroRead6", this is the command you would run to install it: %systemdrive%\install\Applications\AcroRead6\reader6.msi /QB There! That's done. Simple and fast. You should of course, change the paths and other file-names according to your own conditions. --------------------------------- @pkducky Acrobat Reader 6.0.1 and its update (6.0.2) installs without any such problem in similar conditions here.... What could be the cause of the problem? You can only install programs when logged-in with Administrator privileges. Normal users can't install programs and such things. If this point is not valid in your case, check whether you slip-streamed SP4 into your win2k install-source. It updates the MSI installer slightly. AcroRead6 install might try to update the MSI installer if it is not already updated by SP4 - and to update this it wants more than just user account, it requires Admin-privileges again. -
@pdmacmohan and buletov Please make use of CODE blocks in your posts - makes it a lot easier on the eyes, and to spot what you are actually saying.

cool! Another person who knows this! The Titans existed from who knows when.... They spawned Zeus and his other siblings - who were later called the Olymian gods since they lived on Mount Olympia. Then Zeus over-threw the titans and made the heavens his own. The other olympians joined him in the struggle too, but demanded their share of rewards after that. They all then got together and jailed away the titans into the depths of the world - and made a very strong door that could not be broken through even by the Titans. The titans were the original forces who had enormous raw power at their command. Since all power was residing elsewhere, the olympians who were weaker had to use a different tactic to over-throw them - intelligence, and so the olympians were the ones who presided over the softer and strategic factors of life. Yup! The Age.... series is real good. Opens you out to cultures across the world, and to the geography of old, teaches you to keep track of many things at once, raises your thinking/planning capacities - a lovely game franchise in all. (all of this if you played it without the cheats )

Well, then - this fits the last piece in the unattended puzzle. No need anymore for me to delete and re-create partitions. Thanks - will test out this proposal on the next re-install.

Ha ha... good one. Only hitch is that the titans have no mother - they descended from nowhere, they were the original inhabitants of earth and the original gods. The Olympian gods are descended from the Titans. (not to bore those of you who don't play AoM, or don't know all this greek mythology, but its real fun and interesting)

@visaversa That looks really interesting, can you post a link to snapshot's home page?
-
Right - no major changes. Other than the version that is. All the same old switches and whatever other processes you were doing for 5.04 should work with this one as well. Yes, Just need to replace the file (the new one).
