As he said, XPlode runs only on Win2k/XP/2k3. You can use WIHU for win98/ME (wihu is also available right on this forum - link) I'm not very sure about it though, do tell whether it works out.

Hey, does anybody have an idea what to do when you have ZA Security Suite, and you want to disable the firewall component in silent mode?

Adding WinRar extract context menus to file types
prathapml replied to durex's topic in Software Hangout
Well, that takes the task half-way across. After that, you can use "Extract To" from winrar's interface. But yes, if there's any other simple solutions, I'd like to know too. -
Those of you who use easyboot for creating the boot-sector for your multi-boot CD might like to take a look at this. I was looking through the installed folder of easyboot (C:\EasyBoot\resource), and found a batch-file called "wxp.bat". I believe they placed it there so that you could create your "BOOT" folder for your multi-boots quickly. Normally you need to extract the needed files from the boot-floppies downloaded from MS downloads, or run setup halfway-through to retrieve the needed files. But now, just place wxp.bat in your CD's folder and run it to get all the required files out into that folder. You can then put all these files into another folder, call it PRO1 or PRO2 or whatever, and use it as your boot-folder (you still need to edit the setupldr.bin though). If your XP pro install folder is this: AIO-CD\SETUP\XPPRO\And you have your I386 folder inside that folder, just put wxp.bat in "\SETUP\XPPRO\" folder and run it to have all the needed files dumped in that folder. Here's contents of wxp.bat: copy i386\VGA850.FO* copy i386\C_850.NL* copy i386\USBEHCI.SY* copy i386\1394BUS.SY* copy i386\1394VDBG.SY* copy i386\ABP480N5.SY* copy i386\ACPI.SY* copy i386\ACPIEC.SY* copy i386\ADPU160M.SY* copy i386\AHA154X.SY* copy i386\AIC78U2.SY* copy i386\AIC78XX.SY* copy i386\ALIIDE.SY* copy i386\AMSINT.SY* copy i386\ASC.SY* copy i386\ASC3350P.SY* copy i386\ASC3550.SY* copy i386\ATAPI.SY* copy i386\BIOSINFO.IN* copy i386\BOOTFIX.BI* copy i386\BOOTVID.DL* copy i386\CBIDF2K.SY* copy i386\CD20XRNT.SY* copy i386\CDFS.SY* copy i386\CDROM.SY* copy i386\CLASSPNP.SY* copy i386\CMDIDE.SY* copy i386\CPQARRAY.SY* copy i386\C_1252.NL* copy i386\C_437.NL* copy i386\DAC2W2K.SY* copy i386\DAC960NT.SY* copy i386\DISK.SY* copy i386\DMBOOT.SY* copy i386\DMIO.SY* copy i386\DMLOAD.SY* copy i386\DPTI2O.SY* copy i386\DRVMAIN.SD* copy i386\FASTFAT.SY* copy i386\FDC.SY* copy i386\FLPYDISK.SY* copy i386\FTDISK.SY* copy i386\HAL.DL* copy i386\HALAACPI.DL* copy i386\HALACPI.DL* copy i386\HALAPIC.DL* copy i386\HALMACPI.DL* copy i386\HALMPS.DL* copy i386\HALSP.DL* copy i386\HIDCLASS.SY* copy i386\HIDPARSE.SY* copy i386\HIDUSB.SY* copy i386\HPN.SY* copy i386\HPT3XX.SY* copy i386\I2OMGMT.SY* copy i386\I2OMP.SY* copy i386\I8042PRT.SY* copy i386\INI910U.SY* copy i386\INTELIDE.SY* copy i386\ISAPNP.SY* copy i386\KBDA1.DL* copy i386\KBDA2.DL* copy i386\KBDA3.DL* copy i386\KBDAL.DL* copy i386\KBDARME.DL* copy i386\KBDARMW.DL* copy i386\KBDAZE.DL* copy i386\KBDAZEL.DL* copy i386\KBDBE.DL* copy i386\KBDBLR.DL* copy i386\KBDBR.DL* copy i386\KBDBU.DL* copy i386\KBDCA.DL* copy i386\KBDCLASS.SY* copy i386\KBDCR.DL* copy i386\KBDCZ.DL* copy i386\KBDCZ1.DL* copy i386\KBDCZ2.DL* copy i386\KBDDA.DL* copy i386\KBDDIV1.DL* copy i386\KBDDIV2.DL* copy i386\KBDDV.DL* copy i386\KBDES.DL* copy i386\KBDEST.DL* copy i386\KBDFA.DL* copy i386\KBDFC.DL* copy i386\KBDFI.DL* copy i386\KBDFR.DL* copy i386\KBDGAE.DL* copy i386\KBDGEO.DL* copy i386\KBDGKL.DL* copy i386\KBDGR.DL* copy i386\KBDGR1.DL* copy i386\KBDHE.DL* copy i386\KBDHE220.DL* copy i386\KBDHE319.DL* copy i386\KBDHEB.DL* copy i386\KBDHELA2.DL* copy i386\KBDHELA3.DL* copy i386\KBDHEPT.DL* copy i386\KBDHID.SY* copy i386\KBDHU.DL* copy i386\KBDHU1.DL* copy i386\KBDIC.DL* copy i386\KBDINDEV.DL* copy i386\KBDINGUJ.DL* copy i386\KBDINHIN.DL* copy i386\KBDINKAN.DL* copy i386\KBDINMAR.DL* copy i386\KBDINPUN.DL* copy i386\KBDINTAM.DL* copy i386\KBDINTEL.DL* copy i386\KBDIR.DL* copy i386\KBDIT.DL* copy i386\KBDIT142.DL* copy i386\KBDKAZ.DL* copy i386\KBDKYR.DL* copy i386\KBDLA.DL* copy i386\KBDLT.DL* copy i386\KBDLT1.DL* copy i386\KBDLV.DL* copy i386\KBDLV1.DL* copy i386\KBDMON.DL* copy i386\KBDNE.DL* copy i386\KBDNEC.DL* copy i386\KBDNO.DL* copy i386\KBDPL.DL* copy i386\KBDPL1.DL* copy i386\KBDPO.DL* copy i386\KBDRO.DL* copy i386\KBDRU.DL* copy i386\KBDRU1.DL* copy i386\KBDSF.DL* copy i386\KBDSG.DL* copy i386\KBDSL.DL* copy i386\KBDSL1.DL* copy i386\KBDSP.DL* copy i386\KBDSW.DL* copy i386\KBDSYR1.DL* copy i386\KBDSYR2.DL* copy i386\KBDTAT.DL* copy i386\KBDTH0.DL* copy i386\KBDTH1.DL* copy i386\KBDTH2.DL* copy i386\KBDTH3.DL* copy i386\KBDTUF.DL* copy i386\KBDTUQ.DL* copy i386\KBDUK.DL* copy i386\KBDUR.DL* copy i386\KBDURDU.DL* copy i386\KBDUS.DL* copy i386\KBDUSL.DL* copy i386\KBDUSR.DL* copy i386\KBDUSX.DL* copy i386\KBDUZB.DL* copy i386\KBDVNTC.DL* copy i386\KBDYCC.DL* copy i386\KBDYCL.DL* copy i386\KD1394.DL* copy i386\KDCOM.DL* copy i386\KSECDD.SY* copy i386\LBRTFDC.SY* copy i386\L*INTL.NL* copy i386\MOUNTMGR.SY* copy i386\MRAID35X.SY* copy i386\NTDETECT.CO* copy i386\NTFS.SY* copy i386\NTKRNLMP.EX* copy i386\OHCI1394.SY* copy i386\OPRGHDLR.SY* copy i386\PARTMGR.SY* copy i386\PCI.SY* copy i386\PCIIDE.SY* copy i386\PCIIDEX.SY* copy i386\PCMCIA.SY* copy i386\PERC2.SY* copy i386\PERC2HIB.SY* copy i386\QL1080.SY* copy i386\QL10WNT.SY* copy i386\QL12160.SY* copy i386\QL1240.SY* copy i386\QL1280.SY* copy i386\RAMDISK.SY* copy i386\SBP2PORT.SY* copy i386\SCSIPORT.SY* copy i386\SERENUM.SY* copy i386\SERIAL.SY* copy i386\SETUPDD.SY* copy i386\SETUPLDR.BI* copy i386\SETUPP.IN* copy i386\SETUPREG.HI* copy i386\SFLOPPY.SY* copy i386\SLIP.SY* copy i386\SPARROW.SY* copy i386\SPCMDCON.SYS copy i386\SPDDLANG.SY* copy i386\STREAMIP.SY* copy i386\SYMC810.SY* copy i386\SYMC8XX.SY* copy i386\SYM*HI.SY* copy i386\SYM*U3.SY* copy i386\TFFSPORT.SY* copy i386\TOSIDE.SY* copy i386\TXTSETUP.SI* copy i386\ULTRA.SY* copy i386\USBCCGP.SY* copy i386\USBD.SY* copy i386\USBHUB.SY* copy i386\USBOHCI.SY* copy i386\USBPORT.SY* copy i386\USBSTOR.SY* copy i386\USBUHCI.SY* copy i386\VGA.SY* copy i386\VGAOEM.FO* copy i386\VIAIDE.SY* copy i386\VIDEOPRT.SY* copy i386\WMILIB.SY* mkdir SYSTEM32 copy i386\system32\*.* system32 Please post any further ideas/suggestions, and whether you found this info useful. how many of u are using win2003 as workstation?
prathapml replied to cyberthug's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
I used win2k3 as workstation for a week. Then I changed back to XP. Its nice for a novelty, but otherwise its not all that proper as an everyday OS for home, since XP has all the looks, the compatibility, the extras..... I miss all of that with 2k3. -
Hi richard, The starting point is the unattended guide here - link. Then, you use nLite to do all that you want from it, and actually use the guide *AFTER* nlite has done its job. Then, you use XPlode for making your silent apps install look good (you can actually get by with just .CMD batch-files as the guide says, so in the beginning just stick with that. Then when you feel a degree of comfort, move from .CMD to XPlode). Hoping this helps....

Adding WinRar extract context menus to file types
prathapml replied to durex's topic in Software Hangout
You can try this: Install winrar first (important), and then run the following from a batch-file: assoc .001=WinRAR assoc .002=WinRAR assoc .any=WinRARThese are just examples, of course. Please tell whether it worked or not. -
Try checking if fdisk (or partition magic) can see the partition from DOS. Next, if it still is problematic to see the C: drive, using a bartPE (with XPE plugin) bootable CD would be in order. It will give you a winXP-type interface, and if you still can't access C: drive from bartPE there's got to be something horribly wrong there (because the PE will allow you to easily read FAT16/32 and NTFS partitions). Then afterwards when you boot into normal windows, of course... its the standard drill with Ad-Aware, HijackThis, and virus tests, etc.

We need one too? We do have a few flash videos in the "Introduce Yourself" section. Those are quite okay too. And as for the "Posting.... and you!" flash video of this thread's topic - its been posted many times before, in many forums. It originally surfaced for Steam forums, and since then I've lost count of how many times I've seen it appear elsewhere. (no, I don't mean to say it should not have been posted. Simply mentioning that it has become ubiquitous - showing that lot of people have liked it.)

Downloading WinPE would be illegal. And forum rules say warez is out of bounds. Hoping the below info would help, atleast. In the right path, it seems you need to buy an OEM "pack of three" of Windows XP Pro to get a WinPE add-on CD. Its not available for purchase separately either. (correct me if this is wrong) Yep, MS has placed that control deliberately - because WinPE is basically what its name says (windows pre-installation environment) and only those who buy multiple copies of the newest desktop OS would need ways to have an easy install. I guess ZA 5.5 registration (silently) is still done in the same way as for 5.x or 4.x versions. Try searching the forum for topics about it - it was discussed quite a lot.

This is cool news! B) Hereby decree - Let the beer be uncorked. (a little over-reaction there, but you get the point!) Now go vote in the Invision top-site list as well.

Slipstream service packs with hotfixes
prathapml replied to amdxborg's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Okay, please try what I'd described in previous post (3rd on this page) and tell whether it works. -
Slipstream service packs with hotfixes
prathapml replied to amdxborg's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
*SIGH* Are you guys understanding what he's talking about? He wants Post-SP4 updates merged into SP4, and Post-SP2 updates into SP2. Windows is already installed, and that OS-install CD don't come into the picture. -
Slipstream service packs with hotfixes
prathapml replied to amdxborg's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
No, he's asking for something different! He wants to integrate the hot-fixes into the *SERVICE PACK* - no windows, only SP. So that he can use the SP on already installed windows systems. @amdxborg Is the above assessment (about SP) true? Well, if so I don't have a ready solution.... Simply because I haven't ever had the need to do such a thing. I've found that when you install an SP on windows, (since its a major change for system files) you finally end up getting lot of problems, incompatibilities, crashes, dis-connections, etc. Always slip-streamed windows install is a good option. But since you have called-in a new idea, I'll try and see what can be done. For now, I think just *DIRECTLY* replacing files will be enough (remember to have the .CAT files too, along with it). Or, in cases like the GDI+ patch, see the differences that the INF brings, and merge it into the INFs in the Service Pack. You should be able to merge the IE6SP2 updates as well. Overall, its quite possible. Just FYI, the hot-fixes and the SP and such..... are all just .CAB files. Winrar will allow you to extract them. And some more addition - when you replace the files, ensure you take the correct version (there's multiple versions for different purposes, like sp2qfe, sp2gdr, etc. ). Do keep us informed on how it progresses. -
Test Application for Multi-Boot & Video Card
prathapml replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Multi-Boot CD/DVDs
I like the idea... You have not posted your results of testing with VMware. So I tested with VMware 4.5, and everything works perfect. Absolutely no problems. I'll test later with integrated GeForce MX440, and post results. -
Yeah, why 200 specifically? (why not 001, why not 007, etc.) Were there already 199 such names?

Still have problem with Acronis Partition Expert
prathapml replied to june's topic in Multi-Boot CD/DVDs
@Incroyable HULK Oh? That's all? Thanks a lot. I was just simply using the "run filename.ext" command and never got the Acronis products to work till now. Which is why it hasn't yet got a place on my disk yet. Please give me a few details - I'm using EasyBoot 5.01 (an old version). When did that "bootinfotable..." features get introduced? Should I move to v5.05 or something? -
Protecting our Unattended CD/DVD
prathapml replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
...is what I wanted to tell here too. Your link took me to this page, where this tool was listed: Looks good, if you ask me.(not that I'm going to try it, though. I'm happy with my unprotected disk, and will let one of you be the "testers" to tell me whether its good for the purpose.) -
Can I reseal office 2003 as same as windows xp
prathapml replied to whitehorse's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Okay see, there's 3 possibilities. Choose any 1 of those: 1. There's some tool (I don't remember which it was) that microsoft has in downloads, to manage this installed property (to "reseal" as you call it). 2. The VLK needs a key compulsorily. Use the retail CD. And I really don't know why you want to use a VLK copy of the CD and not use the key. Because if you really are authorised to have the VLK, you can as well use the key. But if you are going to distribute the office2003 VLK (in pre-installed form on PCs) to customers, that is illegal. Plus, remember that if your customer has bought a retail version of office2003, the retail key won't work on the VLK version that you installed. (individual users *CANNOT* own VLK - you should purchase thousands of licences for getting VLK authorisation). 3. Use the original CD (can be VLK or retail), or an admin-install point and install o2k3 normally with key. Then use a registry tweak, or REG.EXE (command-line) to delete this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Registration That is where all info about your o2k3 installation's registration is stored. If you delete that, your o2k3 apps will ask for a key at first-run (but the key you used to initially install office will already be filled-in for you). Well... that's an excess of comments that I gave... Too rambling to read. Anyways, do tell what you decided to finally do. (I think option 3 is what you'd want) Just tell if this is sufficient - if you need more info, I'll post it here for you. Hoping this helps... -
Hmm.... Nice long story. Sorry to say my nick here has really no background to it. Its just a fudge-together of my name and initials, and that's it!

WHEW!!!! Did 2004 pass by so soon? So here we are, yet another year, yet another time for new year resolutions. I've resolved to get more rest (snatch time from other activities to sleep more. I'm hardly getting a couple hours currently). Hmm.... let me re-read it. Yep, sounds okay - atleast its sounding better than saying that I don't believe in resolutions. What is YOUR new year resolution?

Something similar is given by:SmartBarXP But as far as modding the normal SysTray to include date goes, nope I haven't seen such a thing.

k, but why do it twice? the flood-control is failing.... (no offence meant, just messing... looked too funny to let it go without a comment) EDIT: I see you deleted the "twice-over" post.
