  1. Managed to extract Quicktime.msi and appleapplicationsupport.msi from orginal installation file. Install these msi files with SCHEDULE_ASUW=0, ASUWISINSTALLED=0, REGSRCH_INSTALL_ASU=0 options. But this could not disable "check for updates automatically" in Quicktime preferences. Copy QTPlayerSession.xml and Quicktime.qtp to the default user folder, and it cannot disable update as well. Anyone knows how to disable "check for updates automatically" in quicktime 7.6.6?
  2. When open windows media player 12 on windows 7 for the first time, it always start with initial settings, select privacy options etc. It is quite annoying when an new user login and open wmp. Is there any way to keep the settings for all users?
  3. Do not know why. If you do not add packages of winpe-setup.cab & winpe-legacysetup.cab, autorun.dll error will not happen.
  4. Does anyone know whether txtsetup.sif will run during sysprep mini-setup? I have make a universal image without SATA driver, but it gave me BSOD when the image is download to a computer with STAT hard disk. I am trying to figure out if I can use txtsetup.sif to install SATA driver (same as F6 during windows installation) during mini-setup.
  5. Does anyone know the following problem on vista? You cannot log on because the logon method you are using is not allowed on this computer. I even cannot log into local admin account.
  6. I am trying to install some applications for IBM (Lenovo) tablet pc. The SETUP.exe file's properties show as follows, Description: Software Installer Company: Lenovo Group File Version: 3.60 Internal Name: pkgmgr Original File Name: pkgmgr.exe Product Name: Software Installer Tried using universal extractor, it said this file cannot be extracted, filetype returned was Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 In such application's folder, there always are swi32.sys, swi32.vxd, swi.xml, tpilibb.dll, tpisetup.dat, tpisetup.dll files. Does anyone know how to install such application silently?
  7. In unattend installation I want to use English - Australia only. However, besides English - Australia, English - United State is always in installed input language. I could not remove it during installation. Does any one know how to fix it? Use windows PE 2.0 to unattend install windows by command winnt32.exe /syspart:c /s:d:\winxp\i386 /tempdrive:c /makelocalsource /unattend:d:\winxp\i386\winnt.sif windows is installed without problem, but $OEM$ folder is not copied to c drive as expected. Folder structure is as follows WinPE CD |___WinPE files |___WinXP (windows cd files) ******|____I386 ******|____$OEM$ Because $OEM$ folder is not copied to C drive, some batch files and scripts can not be run during windows installation. Does anyone know how to fix the problem?
  9. After normal installation, it says "this product has been already activated". I think it is VLK version. Does it mean VLK version can not use setup /-qb without product key? How about retail version?
  10. This version was from my friend, i am not sure it is retail or VLK version. Is any way to tell it?
  11. I have tried setup /QB and pro11.msi /QB (without using PIDKEY) from original CD, but it says 'you have not entered a valid product key' after a while. Any idear?
  12. Can I reseal office 2003 as same as windows xp. After install windows xp and office 2003, can I do something so that when the system is turned on first time, it will ask user to type in product key for office 2003. I know it can be done for windows xp if i reseal windows, but is there a way to do same thing on office 2003?
