  1. Hello! As topic asks, i am finding many dupes in these locations, mostly amd64 directory and sp2.cab and driver.cab. Now both Nlite and RVM integrator has options to optimize filesystem on install media, remove dupes in nlite etc. I would however like to do this manually. Ideally, i would like to get rid of both .cabs, totally. Any help?
  2. So your reason for win98 is legacy hardware ?
  3. Any benches of a so-called highly luxury win98 (No pun intended.) system? I'm interested in DPC latency checker and that sort of thing. Examples of showing responsiveness. I assume that is what it's main strength is.
  4. Hello folks! Simple question, i just want verified. Can i use extracted ._dl , .ex_ , .sy_ (sys, exe, dll) files in xp64cd for install? edit: to answear my own thread, yes that worked perfectly all the way. =) I know i can use it on some dll files at least, and is there any limit to this? Nope doesnt seem like it. not for main amd64 or i386 anyway, and even some of them sub folders. If a file is cab-archived as it is on xp cd, is is then safe to have them extracted? yes which is what i did.
  5. So you are using old drivers that came with vista then. Ah well.
  6. In what regard? From pre login stage or after having windows installed? I would like a parameter for /norestart, which isnt used. However, im optimistic it will work with /s only and not auto restart or such, since it asked me to restart when manually installing the drivers 2 times (it did not ask the first time).
  7. NEW Driver 6.08-4a (RC) for USB Tablets on Windows Vista & XP (32 & 64 bit) Jun. 17, 2008 7.59MB note: extracted sizes. You will need the extract WacomTablet_608-4a.exe with winrar to remove files so you dont install them. The drivers set here linked to contain both 32 and 64bit files. Since i run xp x64bit i've managed to remove 32bit parts, and so slimmed it down from 23.5mb to 14.2mb, down 9.3mb, and the install will work. Installer does seem to support /s parameter to it. I have yet to try it from unattended mode, but it does not contain any pop ups when run with /s parameter. License files can be deleted as well as languages from, have not tried to remove english from .dat files, but english license files can be deleted. I will update this when i've tried it with unattended mode. Thanks! edit: i will be using an intuos 3 tablet a4 to check this with, also have other tablets, im going to check if i can use these drivers for them, so can get multiple confirmations. The actual drivers for 64bit are just 0.45mb, if one does not want tablet control program etc. This is the files i have after removing 32bit parts etc, also modified common.dat and installer.dat, (removing languages -english, info) 36 or 38 with optional files, files vs 97 files in original driver. 8. Kurt: I was just curious, as i always am on most things. I am going to remove that argument then, as well as for firefox. Seeing as i dont install any of them. On subject of Java, JavaRa is a nice tool to keep java up2date, not that i will ever need it reinstalling all the time. Also java directory contains 10-11 license files, im sure at least 10 of these can be safely deleted. John: In the end, whenever SP3 for x64 xp might come out, they will most likely include such an important update containing the kernel. But thats my train of thought, and i am a bit crazy. I remove windows update as well on my gamer station. However, there is no problem using another browser instead of IE on x64 and STILL have full use of windows update(if u dont remove WU, but u can remove IE). I tried Greenbrowser some months ago, or many weeks, anyway. That worked perfect for the task, and was very light weight- no nonsense. I like that, so deleted maxthon as IE replacer. So yeah, it is quite safe to remove ie6 from xp x64 sp2 and use GB as mentioned instead of IE and then use GB for WU activity. Even better, Greenbrowser can be used as a "portable" browser, now please excuse me i dont remember if it was true portable or not, but i know i have it on my M:\ drive and i dont need to install anything else to use it even right after installing xp x64, its ready 2 go, just like portable firefox. AND it will access WU. I tried every combination with integrating IE7, and trying to have nlite remove it. It was no way in hell. However, situation has been confirmed by several parties including nuhi now. And i who since at least 2006 always thought it was nlite who was not capable of doing it, and then it was supposed to have been all this time.
  9. Thanks for validating that you were replying on general grounds.
  10. yep, and ie7 works like it hasnt been touched at all. NP. i'd be happy to test or help in any way i possibly can. Just yell =)
  11. jaclaz: I am curious about trying diskpart exe to change partition letters for harddrives before login, in windows install. I know how to do it, using guid, but i dont know if it will work?
  12. First off: have you even read this thread? Does it look like i am trying to do it from 32bit os? I have been trying different combinations for the last 30 hours.Since 7pm, morning, yesterday. I have tried with xp x64 sp2 retail, xp x64 no service pack, xp x64 with sp2 slipped with nlite, every variation. I do not think there is much more to do at this point. I also have got confirmation from third party, so right now, bed sounds really sweet. Maybe get some other ideas to try. But kinda doubt it. Even if there was possible to get it working with integrating some addon or strange hotfix before i tried it, it would not be working as nuhi himself seems to at least think it does. However, if you can come up with a solution, bring it on!
  13. that's a program not a hotfix or addon.
  14. This problem was solved nearly a year ago, good job staying updated sir! Lol.
  15. Really? This has got to be the most ridiculous thing ever =) I find it hard to believe that there's such lack of communication between Microsoft and these companies who make such devices.
  16. I dont believe that for one split second that you you there is no way you cant install windows to c:\. Update bios and contact your manufacturer about it. It's called boot priority. And that your laptop is set to default boot from card-reader, laff.
  17. Booogy get over here ! I saw this before it came out =) Maybe tcp-ip or usb 1000hz next? Good job nuhi !
  18. Screenshot in 1920x1200 cropped down to, converted to gif 32 colors to save space. Nlite does not remove ie7 once integrated. It does remove those others that says it needs it tho, so thats quite funny. I included all other things that relied on ie7 according to nlite itself. Screenshot shows last session ini. 19. It failed.... Nlite does not remove IE7 once integrated on x64. Which i have tried now many times, and many times before, even when it first came out. Perhaps nlite can remove 32bit version only.tho that quickly is eliminated since i know it removes x64 version of ie6, so it cant be that. Im going to try to make this even simpler. Only integrate ie7 and absolutely nothing else, not even service pack. But i am running out of ideas.
  20. Ye i can try that. But still. this is weird. If nlite doesnt remove IE because i also chose to integrate some hotfixes for it. If i DONT integrate ie7, and chose to remove ie, ie gets removed. So i know nlite can do it. IE7-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB938127-x64-ENU contains Microsoft Vector Graphics Rendering(VML) components, so that is okay, i have chosen to remove that too. So that shouldnt be a problem to also chose to integrate this, since i have told nlite to remove this as well anyway. IE7-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB950759-x64-ENU on the other hand contains many useful updates. such as: DirectX Media -- DirectX Transform Core Internet Shortcut Shell Extension DLL Internet Ratings and Local User Management DLL and much more nice stuff. Okay so lets see, both of these hotfixes might have their contents updated in other hotfixes, but unless i go through all other hotfixes i integrate, about 50 hotfixes, i cant know that for sure. So with all respect, in my point of view, this shouldnt be a problem, yet it is. update: I now did a vmware install without the 2 hotfixes and only ie7 itself and other hotfixes. IE was *NOT* removed. I am going to do a final test now and only integrate SP2, then IE7, and run my preset with what to remove, wo any keep files or such, just basics.
  21. updated. Could it be if my local install of .net framework 2.0sp1 is damaged possibly that have caused it? I do remember i have tried this in the past and got the same result as now, that IE is not removed. at all. I also use custom paths, pf instead of program files, so its PF and PF(x86). setup error log file is empty too.Nothing in it.
  22. No i integrate ie7 with nlite directly. No silent install of it. edit: i Integrated 020-IE7-WindowsServer2003-x64-enu.exe , IE7-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB938127-x64-ENU.exe , IE7-WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB950759-x64-ENU.exe And renamed them to 020-IE7-WindowsServer2003-x64-enu.exe (no change) , KB938127-x64-ENU.exe , KB950759-x64-ENU.exe. Dont think that should matter at all but..
  23. Nope that didnt work. Internet explorer didnt get removed at all, both 32bit and 64bit versions intact. Another 30 minutes wasted..
  24. Kurt, or any other : I have removed IE from my installs, yet i'm still running with the java jre x86 with internet explorer =1 argument, it works and all, but what does this actually do? Copies java files for use with ie only or is it like system wide. I'm going to try and found out more about it. Im thinking of installing with same parameters as x64. I dont use your firefox install either, i use portable firefox. Thanks!
  25. Hm OKAY.. well i have already tried several times. I guess i will try normal integration then.
