  1. mj084, I gave you the list, it's not "one of them", it's all of them from the list. All you need is peimg.exe and a batch script to integrate hotfixes.
  2. Found the issue, I can't believe that this was causing the issue. Certain reg entries must not be cleaned in the 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FolderDescriptions'. Components which have this problem are: Game Explorer Printer Support Sidebar Media Samples Windows Search Sync Center You can remove all other and the KB938979 will work just fine. Fixed in the next version. Imagine how stupid this was, now gotta leave those entries there, good thing is that they don't matter once the component is removed, it was more of a cosmetic cleanup. The fix on the running machine probably would be to uninstall that hotfix, fill in all the default values in that reg key and reinstall the hotfix.
  3. Well then reinstall with the filter manager kept. If that install failed there is nothing we can do. I tested that method and it works but who knows what else was there, maybe some hotfix, or even IE has changed some crucial files and it's version hell.
  4. Full XP SP2 CD. Just press install from within vLite when started.
  5. It's some specific modification, not all. I managed to go to the half the ISO size and the hotfix still works.
  6. Oh. vLite - Unattended - OK vLite - Unattended + Tweaks - OK vLite - Unattended + Tweaks + Remove all - Not OK Gonna see which removal is causing this, my apologies for being defensive but this one is one in a million. I am puzzled. It probably needs some service running.
  7. Thx rezzo, I followed your pictures and with all removed confirmed the problem. Now installing full.
  8. I presume it's 64bit. It can be that you integrated some drivers and on Apply chose the first method, that one just adds the changes to the image. If you use Apply 2nd method it will separate your selected image and it will be a lot smaller, if you remove something of course. Worst case scenario you are using Vista files from the drive root and it copies other folders as well.
  9. You edited your post to look more friendly and I welcome that. Anyway I read about this issue all around the net. Could be that they all removed or disabled something. In essence if you compare then if you used unattended with vlite you must copy that same xml file to the full version because it can be due to Administrator user or something like that. Also it's kb938979, not kb937979.
  10. marc2003, with that biased attitude you'll have to be specific how to reproduce that issue if you confirm that it's something removed.
  11. Dynaletik, haha number of the quad beast. marc2003, it worked, he applied the hotfixes then it doesn't work. Main possibility is either some antivirus software or hdd controller drivers. If he thinks that it's vLite then reinstall full Vista, apply hotfixes, see what it does. If it works then reinstall vLited, apply hotfixes and come to conclusion. I know that vLite came out too early before people learn all the built-in quirks of Vista. And I know 2 people who are using these hotfixes with vLited Vista without any issue. Bottom line: yeah I could have been more considerate in my reply, sometimes it's just that 6666th post.
  12. jgurtz, and it never occurred to you that it's more likely that your install failed and the settings were aborted before applied than that I made 100 mistakes at once? Look at your windows\setuperr.log
  13. Why are you posting here? vLite can't control file operations.
  14. As soon as I break Microsoft signatures. Or never.
  15. Apocaliptica, this error is fixed in the next version, just reset the temp folder to default in the vlite options.
  16. I never said it was fixed. You can enable the ISO page on the tasks page. Even without the apply. Only splitting won't hurt it. Just disable the Component page and it should be fine.
  17. Yes, a known issue. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=101281
  18. I'm glad you like it. About your copy issue, sorry but never heard about it. Try searching the net for the explanation, I didn't know that it is even possible to have such a problem. Check that other machine. Also there was some hotfix for XP sharing for Vista.
  19. Hehe same here.
  20. Only 320 and you find that too much. Do you remember how much was full?
  21. Yes, sharing issues are probably not related to vLite since I remove almost all and I can copy from others without a problem. Try to copy to some normal folder where you can write for sure and access it through My Computer - drive letter, not some Admin - Documents folder, those menus on the left are totally bugged or I don't know how to use them. Maybe Fraps is a potential in that issue with the broken startup.
  22. Huh so your Computer Browser works, weird, gotta try that. Compatibility option just hides needed components for the selected feature so that you don't remove it by accident. In Control Panel\Network and Sharing Center, can you turn on Network Discovery and File Sharing? (first one fails after firewall is removed) Never heard of such a game, maybe you have HDD/memory issues.
  23. Yes. It will be in the next version of V for vLite.
  24. Yeah it's the Windows Firewall removal. It is needed for the Computer Browser and to easily enable sharing. I believe that you still can set that up manually but sorry don't have the specifics now. Gonna add the compatibility option for that. So reinstall with the Firewall and Internet Connection Sharing kept.
  25. datalife, yeah that Task Scheduler is needed just for the built-in Defrag, I'll write that more clear. I removed App Exp and it works.
