Uh. They started in Germany months ago, all update packs are now banned there. I thought it's just German government but it seems it's beginning to spread.

Can someone fill me in, why bother with so many tweak tools out there? Also it's not nLite tweaks, it's Windows tweaks so I should move this topic to Windows forum? Btw you didn't ask me for a permission to use nLite name in it and I would give it so please change it. LegoTweaker is one candidate.

Yes this was confirmed to be because of some protection programs like Mcaffee Security something. I'm still yet to reproduce the issue, maybe then it will be easily fixable. Maybe someone can guide me how to break it ? (keep in mind that nlite on Vista without any third party programs works for sure)

yoke9, of course you are right but also it will be polished as the time passes. Vista came out too early because it was delayed for too long. Weird sentence Services config, sure, it was already done then I hide it because something wasn't right, can't remember now what but eventually it will be finished.

If you just use the selected Windows version then in functionality there is no difference. Only difference is in the size. I think that you save around 100MB by rebuilding it in that case, not sure, you can test that very easily.

I see Vista as an XP SP3, no offense to the MS developers, it's impossible for us to see what's under the hood. It is bloated, no question about it. Why can I wait until it's all gone...because our machines today are faster. Why don't I just use XP...because for the same reason why I install SP2 on it, because I want it new and updated as possible. Vista has it all in it, compared to any XP. Is Vista better than XP? There is no answer to that, it depends on your usage. But I am offended that they locked DX10 for Vista only, that was a cheap shot regardless of the display driver facts.

Only issue is that of a missing wer.dll file for System Restore and faultrep.dll for InkBall or something. So put those two in the Protect Files box as the example is shown and you're done. Or remove System Restore when removing Error Reporting. For other compatibilities vLite will prompt you if you are to remove something which will break the other.

Never heard about the installer issues because of vlite, try to see if something else does it, for example as ZeDMaN said if you used some reg file to disable services or some other tweaks.

Hotfixes which don't find needed components will fail to install, meaning skipped. Yes install IE hotfixes even if you're using Maxthon. Don't play with SP1 until it's at least public beta.

Alex, just open it once in vlite and maybe do one tweak, disable all other pages, Apply - Rebuild. You'll have your isolated version untampered. Dobby, yes it's a bug, already reported but thx anyway.

You can see in the Task Manager which process takes the most cpu time during those delays, just click on the CPU column header to sort.

Weird thing is that I can, as I already stated. Haven't tried integration yet though. On 32bit KB935807-v2-x86 failed on me. Reason - firewall removal, gonna see about bypassing that in next one, maybe keep a file or two.

It is about signatures, nlite edits files, it detects that and gets confused. It's not about missing entries or something like that.

Well you didn't understand my reply. It's not a bug if your integration failed for some reason. It's up to you to remake the ISO from scratch. Who cares if the XML contains DE-de, just install it, you'll see it will switch to English without any problem, it will just prompt at startup. But we are talking here about problematic install, why would you force that anyway, you first gotta see why it failed or just reboot and try again.
