  1. Ah sorry...draw conclusion at first few words...kinda a habbit while this tabbed browsing with all new posts makes me feel like there is no time.
  2. Ronin, still waiting for my Vista...until then can you tell us do you have CnQ enabled in bios...try with disabled. It would be great if that driver is in the OS...or should we call it ACPI 2.0 support ?
  3. Ok added IE7 beta 1 direct integration support in next nlite. No hacking, no WGA, just replaces and installs like normal IE, gonna reinstall tomorrow with it and give it a live tour.
  4. Yeah, as I said in the post above yours.
  5. rentz, I had similiar errors with some CAT files. Makecab is weird...gonna replace it with some dll in one of the next versions. Until then just delete that file before integration. edit: ok, fixed in next version, still with makecab
  6. Solved the issue...finally filtered all files and it's fast enough...so it will behave like normal.
  7. Every nlite if files removed will cause sfc to popup, if sfc left enabled. Why there is so much talk about it lately...well probably because it has less and less bugs...only ones that are currently bothering public are SFC and Nvraid. Next version will have better sfc filtering but it will also take more time to process files.
  8. Ok, now I remember having the same thing with beta 4 but in beta 5 it's ok. Do you know what I did different...haven't used RVM pack...seems there is some issue with removal or it's one of the hotfixes in there like that Explorer lan thing. Integrate only public critical hotfixes and you will be fine.
  9. @riverrm, true, only point was that it's in one big file...that helps with continuity and cd copy speed. I may be off with that first phase but it does copy eventually. @Araknis, that's the one. Don't know of the results...basically I'm not doing it because than you need to edit inf's and put entry to locate files in cab...not so needed to be worth breaking signature of particular inf. Upx works, but I don't use it myself since it slows things down after install and space is not what i'm after even though it may seem otherwise. I'm just interested in freeing the memory from unneeded processes, thus removing components. Msi thing read in nlite's forum and replied to.
  10. Nothing in nlite settings or removals could disable Shell Services on purpose...so msxyz, is your Shell HW Detection service started or not ? Are you sure that on full windows it's ok ? And if you are then attach your preset, I'll try it once.
  11. That means you tampered with those files and they are no longer signed, checksum is not what setup expects from reading CAT files. You may get File Protection popups notifying you to put in original cd so that Windows can replace those files, cancel that.
  12. If I may pop in. We have discussed this before on nlite's forum and came to a conclusion that compressing files into few big CAB's like driver.cab or sp2.cab would significantly speedup copy process from CD. Something like that is done in Longhorn, if you take a look at it you'll see that it has almost all setup files in one big one which is expanded during first phase. Since CPU's are faster today compression in this scale doesn't matter, so less to copy, compressed file, is better, in my opinion of course.
  13. Then you used some option which causes that...like VMWare when installing it asks you to turn that off because it has issues. It's some tweak you use or disabled service, service you can easily check, if it's working then it's a tweak...not in nlite.
  14. anfo1369, Expand this file and take makecab from there, it's legal http://download.microsoft.com/download/pla...n-us/cabsdk.exe Put it into your system32 folder by overwriting old one. Also be sure there is no makecab.exe in nlite\data folder. And if this helps then compress and attach example of not working makecab so I may detect it. Thanks
  15. No need to apologize. Only thing changed is order of HW ID entries...and I can not believe how important this seems for Nforce line of controllers. For your info (not saying this in a bad way), beta 5 solved few nforce 4 installs (undetected drives and bsod) with some people with specific drivers...even small driver version difference makes a difference for them.
  16. cantankerous, I'm not doing anything wrong, this method works on almost every other controller. Gonna introduce this sif method in next version, with the help of Fernando 1 and guides all over.
  17. Beta 5 is cleaning majority of sfcfiles and it helped for some. Problem is that they made filenames in it with almost randomized capitalization so I gotta manually enter strings for third of files or search would be even longer. It will be done eventually...for now it cleans a big portion.
  18. Not at the moment, sorting bug reports, gonna contact you when I'm ready.
  19. That's true and with this driver signature thing they really annoy me. However since that sif method works lets go that way...I won't patch this method any more, it works for some, for some it won't no mather what. edit: unless someone finds exactly what's the point...maybe nvraid.inf needs editing who knows
  20. Link21, well some people have issues if that is removed, I never experienced it so it's best that you keep it if you don't like reinstalling. Started from few latest, some say from 0999...who knows, maybe it's some new hotfix or very rare driver. It was DrWatson only I think so you can remove other.
  21. Dr. Watson and Error Reporting thing with printers is found by Glider, thanks once more, when there is no more to remove I'll be back to addapt those.

    Longhorn who Very nice indeed.
  23. dragonfixed, that should have been gone with keeping dr Watson or error report... It's on you to try since I can't track it...no one else complains any more.
  24. Ok, adding these cleanups, thanks for delaying next version
