Since Windows install only drivers which you have then usually there will be no gain, but: You may however gain some improvement if you remove lets say unused drivers which get installed if you have such hardware like Ports (parallel and COM), Firewire... It will also speed up Windows handling INF folder since it has less files to parse through.

Seems like you are missing the Tahoma font, reinstall it from the full Windows and I'll try to remove that dependency...thought I did already.

nLite doesn't control that nor it can break it, check your boot.ini file and read some guides on the net.

I have never heard that someone is complaining about nLite breaking WGA, if you are sure in that I will investigate some more, but try without any addons first.

Detection phase is the part of setup where it detects your hardware, first GUI boot during install. BartPE modification isn't generic I'm afraid, I had to copy my RAID sys file as well after making WinPE. So when you see which file is missing go into the pre-bart installation folder and copy what you need into appropriate folder in WinPE...for example SATA/RAID sys file is going into System32\Drivers folder...don't add anything else if you are just making WinPE.
