  1. I will just confirm that rehbar is on the ball. And IE does that even if you install it manually so go and report to MS if you don't like it
  2. Madhits45, that's bad error, meaning WMI service installation failed, could be from many reasons. In your case probably because of [RemoveFiles] notepad.exe Or Services config, you put many to manual. Try default. And remove all from remove box, I may think about removing that feature as it can't remove some files from other infs like notepad is called.
  3. Focus on your services configuration if you do any tweaking there because even if you remove all components there won't be any problem on clean installation. Some error popups during MSI sure, that's when some database components are removed but that's harmless, maybe that was your MSI problems?
  4. Is there a particular reason for so many files in the KeepFiles section? Have you been missing files during install or it's just like a precaution to be sure that those files won't be removed? If it's second then I don't recommend to keep that list, just put files which you are sure that are removed.
  5. Fixed this in next version for good. However for those who have this problem it's good to know that it's harmless popup, annoying but happens only once and it's harmless.
  6. lol cool It's not like I have it branded final and put it waiting, there is always something testing and fixing...small changes so that it doesn't break in last minute.
  7. Hi, if you mean will I give up on nLite when Vista support starts the answer is no, I like nLite and it will be still useful years to come. Final 1.2 is out this monday. (for others no I'm not the Kitty )
  8. minigun, good point, Inno installer is the thing that anti-virus or whatever is detecting wrongly, please someone report it. Anyway I'm not that offended or anything but I'm not glad to see that you attacked the guy...so gotta close this topic.
  9. retox, if no one else reports it then what am I to think other than it's on your side somehow. Thousands of people use nlite and no one ever complained about injecting reg entries, nor does nlite do it even for saving settings (it uses ini files). I can only explain this by you having some infection already on your os prior installing nlite and somehow it triggers it to reapply that reg.
  10. hehe good one. If you need the obvious explanation why those two aren't nearly the same let me know.
  11. Man I can't believe you never experienced false antivirus alert. Regarding Winrar selfextracting exe every other antivirus will report as some trojan, then you just report that to the antivirus author and they will correct, happened before. Let me know what they say, but I assure you that nLite is clean and don't make me close this topic, so no insults please.
  12. Oh man this annoying problem is getting on my nerves. First of all I bet you have sp2 integrated over sp1. If you don't have clean, non-sp windows copy I don't blame you. Now... Did you try with and without Merge cabinets in options?
  13. dexter.inside, thanks for the tips but I'm already at 50% of Vista's size, it's going fine.
  14. Check Windows\setuperr.log file, any info there?
  15. Since Windows Update service wasn't removable ever as a separate component...gonna put it into the next beta, this one gotta be final, that means no new stuff sorry. smartie91, yeah right Those on Mars are tough cookies but I'll get them eventually...
  16. Why are you talking about the UXtheme patch? It works and forget about it, recopy your clean Windows, use nlite rc1.2 don't use services page, integrate few themes and choose one. Build ISO, test in Vmware or virtualpc. Oh and don't remove Shell Services.
  17. It will be Veestah after all. If you want you can post here what would you like first to be removed since Vista is very close and I'll have to speed it up a little.
  18. This is the result of not using the Direct Integration but even with it enabled IE7 has one new file which is supported in next version.
  19. pkoppelaar, what windows language version was that?
  20. JerichoJones, I presume this entry is from MSI installer integration, gonna try in 2k server later on, thx for reporting. Until then you can avoid that hotfix integration if you want to use the 1.2
  21. It seems like not saved only if you change Windows versions during sessions. For example that happens to me when I test Win2k and then switch to XP, they changed the Timezone string in between those two.
  22. Thanks for the info. But this isn't a bug, it's simply a dependency. LanmanServer is installed if you put File and print sharing into any network adapters protocols, gonna add the warning into the description.
  23. Please move your files to some folder without any non-ASCII characters like à. Let me know if that doesn't help. I'll try to put some kind of detection and a warning because even MS Hotfixes fail under extraction, not just nlite limitation.
  24. Yeah I'm sure...unless some developer sees it and tells me what it is it will remain a mistery. And don't think that I usually ignore bugs like this but this one experienced only a handful of users.
  25. Visual Studio 6 may need: Frontpage Extensions, Active Directory, VB Scripting, IE Core If you kept all of those and it doesn't work let me know. Use 1.2RC, don't remove Mouse Cursors until next version.
