antonio_king, not a bad idea but it will have to wait, too much to do already.

Does that Recovery DVD installs when used without removing any components from it? I mean if it is the recovery DVD it's not supported by vLite, at least removals...try keeping the Component Cache if you remove it.
-
Did you remove Component Cache component?
-
Masterwill21, don't double post.

Here I wrote you this anwer becuase it really did become FAQ-worthy: http://www.nliteos.com/faq.html#Q31 When you integrate the drivers then no need to press the F6, I have Intel chipset motherboard with the same driver and all works when integrated, together with Unattended too.
-
Did you use nLite with all those integrated with it in one go or you exited it and reused existing folder in what sequence? Or third party integrators?
-
I don't know of any Unattended="No" option, are you sure it's nlite who is setting it? Can't check for already added drivers, they are compressed while integrated. I could only put some sort of list of added folders but then still what if you updated your drivers there. As I said earlier when you want to do some change to the CD best is to start over, load your preset, add the change, make the ISO...fast and safe.
-
Jancm, boooggy is right, until it's bypassed enable Reports in Hotfix integration options and answer No while getting prompts during that hotfix integration. For others pay attention, not just No, Yes is recommended, this is exception for now.
-
How about throwing me a bone here...like a preset for example (attach don't just paste)
-
Why are you using the IE7 addon when nLite can integrate the original IE7 installer? Try once without WMP11 if you already are integrating IE7 installer.
-
We use Virtual Machines (vmware or virtualpc) for that. No way in hell that I would be able to do that kind of simulation just for fun (or ever).
-
I see many mistakes in your sequences so I'll just state what I know is the right way: -use RW discs and/or virtual machines while unsure -run nlite ONCE on a clean original CD -select pages you need by clicking next do the following if you selected it: -Slipstream SP2 (only if no SP2 already of course) -addon packs/hotfixes + IE7 + IE7 Hotfixes (add this after the IE7 in the line) -any other page, nlite takes care of the proper sequence, you just select the pages and click next. then when nlite is done: -Slipstream Boooggy WMP11 (as per app instructions to use last) or any other kind of 3rd party integration EXCEPT hotfix packs, that has to be first because now addons and hotfixes already overwritten the possibly obsolete hotfix pack So I repeat do all you can with only nlite and run nlite only once, that's the safest way. If you want to redo your cd with something new added just recopy clean files again, load your preset, do the change and you're done in a second, no need to reselect all manually.

roper512, you won't believe this but most of the people believes that that it cannot possibly help, that all we do is break our OS. Well I'm patient and I don't care any more of those "blasphemers" but it sure is nice to read this topic in the times of such fast hardware. I'm having the same experience and so does anyone who used nLite to it's fullest. Of course it can go the wrong way (frustration) if you're not into it and not ready to do some trials, then stick to the full version. Biggest improvements are because of the removed services/components, not just disabled, because nLite removes those files before install so they are not registered nor in the memory (emphasis on the threads and handles, not actual memory size), while that disable option (post install, services) is kinda questionable (definitelly not clearing the reg). To remind of add/remove programs for IE and WMP (just removes the icon and hides the files).
-
No because nLite doesn't remove it. But it could be ISO problem, try changing the default engine, download mkisofs or cdimage (recommended) then change it in nlite's iso page, you'll find it. Then recreate the ISO from the same folder (just select iso page). If that doesn't help recheck if you do anything else or remove files with remove box (components - advanced).
-
I just tested IE7 (installer from ms) + KB928090, integrated with nlite, all removed with ie compatibility ON and all works ok.
-
This looks to me like a question at what speed does Nero burns the ISO. http://www.nliteos.com/files/scrn6.png You see that Maximum under burn speed, well click it for a dropdown.
-
vim, that is great news, I would appreciate if someone can post that on the Neowin's thread, I don't like false bad publicity.
-
Just tried the #1 and it worked...so there must be something else rather than a specific setting that is messing it up for you. I removed all in my test to go faster, used clean xp sp2 with nothing integrated. Check your windows\setuperr.log file.
-
Not for now. But since printers are really big I'll try to separate them in some of the next versions. Ethernet drivers are small, keep them.
-
I just tried it on my installation and it's true. Also there are listed removed languages so I gotta say you did find something. Try keeping the Text Services Framework until I check it, it could help. edit: Integrating IE7 does this

I removed ForceCopyDriverCabFiles in the 1.3 rc2, have you tried it?
-
strotee76, almost...he isn't completely sure that it's NLA and I vaguely remember trying it and it didn't help...there are probably more services needed.
-
Must be that...sorry I can't support every tweaked version out there, get yourself original Windows.

You do realize that Windows set HKCU,"Environment","TEMP",0x00020000,"%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp" HKCU,"Environment","TMP",0x00020000,"%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp" by default in the hives? No reason to reapply it. So you're telling me I just need to change HKLM for it to work? (I don't think that will work) What's the problem with the 1.3rc2, have you tried it?
