  1. You will often find such errors pop up momentarily on your console while running HFSLIP. Most are not any cause for concern. The particular error you are describing has happened many times for me as well. If your ISO works well, you need not worry!
  2. The problem with trying to delete folders from a Vista installation from XP or even another Vista installation is that Vista locks all the files for other OSes. Unfortunately, you have to take ownership from within Vista and delete them from there, which I don't think is always possible. For example, I have a Boot folder stuck in my XP partition from when I installed Vista on a separate partition. I can't delete it, even with Unlocker or through DOS! The best method, like the others said, is to reformat that partition and try not to install Vista and another OS on the same drive.
  3. Fixed problem with attachment that arose when the board was upgraded.
  4. Update for December fixes. Sorry about the delay. Happy Holidays
  5. @the_guy and ggg: Sorry about that. I was only going upon what you (ggg) said in your post. If I'm not mistaken, one thing is still true however. The update won't install unless you have Office XP installed, and unless you have it integrated onto your disc, there is no reason for HFSLIP to support it. Even still, it would need to be installed after Office.
  6. That is probably why. Microsoft removed the Java Virtual Machine in XP SP1a. Although you slipstreamed SP2 onto SP1, the slipstreaming process may not have properly removed all the Java VM components.
  7. This is off the top of my head. IE7-KB928089-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe - I believe it is supported. ENU_Q832483_MDAC_x86.EXE - No, it's for SP1. wic_x86_enu.exe - It's not required for WMP11, but I'm not sure if it works with HFSLIP. KB885222 - Maybe... KB885884 - HFSLIP slipstreams for Windows, not Office. Slipstream it into your Office XP install package. KB887710 - ? KB889527 - ? KB893056 - ? KB899587 - Yes, also on WU KB902400 - superseded KB904706 - Yes, still needed; bimonthly updates don't update the DX binaries, only add new gaming ones KB908521 - same as above regarding Office updates KB909095 - ? KB912817 - Yes, also on WU KB913446 - superseded KB917021 - Nothing seems to be unusual. KB917537 - Yes, also on WU KB926247 - Yes, also on WU
  8. Here we go again... @Kiki, thanks for trying to help, but I don't think that's what Tomcat meant. I believe he was referring to the times when using T-13 (SVCPACK) works and when using it does not.
  9. Whoops, three problems here! 1. I stand corrected, leos. Tomcat has provided support for it as indicated in the two posts above. 2. Kiki, you posted extra! 3. Kiki, not only did you post extra, the link you provided is invalid.
  10. Merry Christmas Happy Hanukkah (even though it's over) Happy Kwanzaa/Boxing Day What else? Oh, enjoy the holidays everyone and have a happy and prosperous New Year!
  11. You are using XP SP2. You don't need WindowsXPESP1-KB887998-x86-ENU.exe, which is for XP SP1. Another thing...we do not provide support for Windows XP Media Center Edition. You'll have to figure out problems specifically related to that yourself. Good luck and happy holidays!
  12. You need that update for the post-install wizard (i.e. Welcome to Windows) to work. If you're installing IE7, please also make sure you restart the computer.
  13. @leos Please post your HFSLIP.LOG and WU.TXT file from HFNETCHK as you were instructed to do so. Also, we do not provide support for embedded versions of operating systems. HFSLIP is intended for use on personal retail copies.
  14. And please make sure you restart if you haven't done so already... (Just wanted to emphasize this.)
  15. @Tomcat: There is a Java 1.5.0.10. Sun doesn't always update their site.
  16. arjanv, the latest version requires you to restart your computer in order for IE7 to work because it is installed at GUIRunOnce (after the first logon).
  17. My installation failed again. Based on what I see in setuperr.log, I may need to check my WINNT.SIF file. Will report back on this. Edit: Awww...apparently the problem was indeed with my WINNT.SIF. I kept using the same computer name in my VM as I was already using on the host computer. This caused setup to restart at T-31 after it reconfigured the setting. Now I just hope it will still work when I try it from CD. Sorry for all the trouble.
  18. Older CABs are still needed. I wonder what happened...
  19. All hotfixes go in HFSLIP. If a hotfix isn't supported or doesn't work, report it here and the authors will provide support for it. That includes the Malicious Software Removal Tool. Check out Tomcat76's update list for more information on what goes where.
  20. Hmmm...why is XP SP1a now "obsolete"? I know support for it ended, but I thought HFSLIP would still support it. By that I mean Tomcat76 removed the link to SP1a on hfslip.org and stopped updating his hotfix list for it.
  21. The purpose of the $OEM$ folder is to add files into the WINDOWS directory and any subdirectories. HFEXPERT takes care of this by providing support for it as well as allowing you to place files in Program Files. Documents and Settings is not yet supported, but probably will in the near future. Read more about it here: http://www.hfslip.org/advanced.html#a3
  22. Wow, good timing! Let's hope it does.
  23. @Sgt_Strider: What exactly doesn't work? Is IE7 simply not installed? Do you get an error message? For WMP11, use a program such as 7-Zip or WinRAR. Right-click on wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe and extract the contents into a folder. Rename the folder WMP11 and place the folder itself (i.e. not just the files) into HF.
  24. @retalv Glad you understand. If you use HFSPLUG2.CMD, you don't have to modify the main HFSLIP script at all!
  25. @Tomcat76 When you say a silent .NET 2.0 installer is required in HFSVCPACK for Windows PowerShell 1.0 to work, would a .NET 3.0 installer suffice as it contains .NET 2.0 binaries?
