  1. thanks ... sorry ... slow reading day today for me ... been taking a couple of Starbucks Venti Caramel Macchiati already so as not to doze off ... still managed to create new ISO using 60608a earlier ... no good sleeping hours yet ... so do we still throw in this newer release via HFSLIP?
  2. we need to release a new HFANSWER.ini then for those who might just be using it for the 1st time ... but it'd be easy to add the other lines ...
  3. would there be nothing like Jun2006_d3dx9_??_x86.cab? i'm sorry ... haven't read much yet ... just downloaded the file ... haven't extracted it yet ...
  4. hey you're up Tomcat! more options for HFSLIP users ... great ... he! he! thanks! btw, Yzöwl, sir ... it is HFSVCPACK now ...
  5. still goes into HFCABS, right?
  6. HFSLIP will most likely be busy again for taking all these in ... tommyp & Tomcat76 ... here goes another round! add to this taking care of DX June rel ... he! he!
  7. hi! i just want to report that i believe installing recovery console was a success ... i saw it install (just like the normal way when doing it after successful OS installation) at T-13 ... the option for recovery console during boot is already there ... accessing recovery console & trying out some commands were successful too ... i tried recon.cmd 1st since it would be easier to take out in case... i modified it a bit by though by making the "\winnt32" portion to "\winnt32.exe" ... please advice though if not necessary i was kinda apprehensive about meddling w/ HFSLIP.cmd as i might insert the line incorrectly ... he! he! really ... thanks much Tomcat & Yzöwl!
  8. got it sir! this is what i've been using: Foxy_dotNET_1.1_and_2.0_SVCPACK_Addon ... and it works flawlessly even with 60603b ...
  9. just 1 quick Q ... would this mean that directly downloaded dotnet2.exe from MS should work just fine now ... thus not calling for a switchless installer anymore? thanks!
  10. Yzöwl ... glad to hear from you ... thanks for this sir! i'll try this too ... & yup ... basing it on winnt32.exe switches, it only works after full OS installation ... hope Tomcat's & your advice would work ... sirs, any chance we could include this in HFSLIP's capabilities? thanks! thanks!
  11. hi Squeeto! you will see tons of addons there! & what's great is it is supported by HFSLIP via HFAAO ... as already mentioned by Super-Magician hi Crash&Burn! 2xplorer (or xplorer2 lite) is just as good ... in fact that is what i use as my default program/file mgr instead of windows explorer ... see if you'd like it too here are the links: http://netez.com/2xExplorer/ http://zabkat.com/
  12. hi! my apologies if i would add to this (of course this was after i already came across the topic in http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=63302&st=15) ... i was also looking forward to an update about the possibilities: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=74341 but i guess it didn't push through (or is it still in the works ) you see, i've encountered an intermittent issue with updating my ATI vid driver after XP completely installs ... btw, i use the latest from ATI's site ... well, what happens is that when i apply the driver update ... & apparently after it installs --- the screen resolution goes down to a low 2-bit (not even 16 ) ... 2-bit?!!! ha! ha! really weird ... but i don't think i'm mistaken here ... i tried to re-create the issue & yes it still reoccured ... i tried installing from the accompanying cd installer (that came w/ the card) ... then updating it w/ the latest driver release ... same result as when outright using the updated driver rightafter OS install ... of course, restarting the machine after every attempt ... even tried uninstalling the driver altogether to just use the one from XP driver database ... i'm saying it's intermittent since out of frustration in 1 of my attempts i just shut down the system ... slept on it & upon booting to it the next day, all fine & dandy! it's just weird? what could be wrong here? this has never happened to me before in any of the builds i created ... could this be a driver glitch? i wonder ... (1) anyways, would it be possible to integrate the driver (which of course would not limit/stop me from updating using newer releases) ... i've encountered 1 system that i repaired at 1 time which had the video driver integrated (i think it was nVidia) that didn't allow me to update it ? (2) which specific (or only) files do i have to include in HFSLIP? (3) would it be possible to slipstream too both ATI & nVidia drivers ... w/ the OS only making use which 1 is detected in the system? my apologies if some questions here sound stupid ... any guidance or clarification would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
  13. @ Super-Magician ... yes sir it did! just 1 of those crazy experiments that i do when i create ISOs ... @ tommyp ... sir, no slight intended ... just asking ... since we already some some .msi & .exe included ... just thinking about some other possibilities ... that i am confident HFSLIP can handle not forcing the issue ... he! he! thanks!
  14. he! he! Forwarder, i actually hit the wall several times during my initial installs ... being stuck @ 39 mins ... 9 minutes ... less than a minute ... ... even allowing my patience to exceed it's threshold ... allowing it to run for hours ... even overnight ... silly me! some pieces of advise i got from the guys were the following: (1) delete cat files (2) minimize hotfixes to those mostly in the list (http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=62177) (or those that are only needed by the system) (3) my apologies but i only took a quick look in your HF files ... would you already have SP2 included? (3) minimize the addons (but you don't have those anyways ) (4) could you try to include in your FIX directory: SFC_OS.DL_ ("This is optional, you do not have to shut off WFP" ... most especially if CAT files would be deleted via HFSLIP) these are just suggestions ... overall though your log shows that it's pretty much simplified ...
  15. hi Squeeto! i know this ain't much ... but i would just probably let HFCLEANUP take that charmap out & replace it w/ an extended char map ... i found this addon: Extended Character Map v1.41 by Mrs Peel (http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=511) ... but if you're not much for add-ons, just please disregard this ...
  16. thanks Tomcat ... i'll try this later
  17. hi! allow me please to drift a little away from the recent topic ... would HFSLIP allow further support for other .msi (& or .exe) installers (mostly, from MS --- to name a few: WinColorSetup.exe (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e33dca0-7721-43ca-9174-7f8d429fbb9e&DisplayLang=en); UFDSetupWizard.msi (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=94991901-bfc4-485e-bcae-c9df0accdaae&DisplayLang=en); TimeZoneSetup.msi (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=07fb0bd8-f390-458d-a629-6f0258ac7cdf&DisplayLang=en); RAWViewerSetup.exe (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=d48e808e-b10d-4ce4-a141-5866fd4a3286&DisplayLang=en); DECCHECKSetup.EXE (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=de1491ac-0ab6-4990-943d-627e6ade9fcb&DisplayLang=en); etc.)? actually, for the last 1 i already tried via HFSVCPACK ... & it worked. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  18. hi! would there be a way via HFSLIP (svcpack or runonce) to install the recovery console? i always have to execute it via run once the OS has completed it's install: x:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons i would love to have this executed regardless of the drive letter of optical drive so i could use the installer in other pcs as well. your assistance would be really appreciated.
  19. oh btw, you may also try: Test releases, 60603b (USP5 & .NET 2.0) & HFSPLUG1.CMD (Flash Win2K/2K3) from http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=69809
  20. hi forwarder! welcome to HFSLIP ... i perfectly understand what you're going through ... i actually had the same frustration (only it was XP Eng ver) ... please read through this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=57659 you'll see how helpful the guys are here! for now, please post your HFSLIP.log ... so the masters can see! i am certain you'll be out of the woods in no time ...
  21. thanks for the quick reply tommyp! actually i did read it ... simplest thing i did was just stash everything in HFCLEANUP directory ... as for using nLite, i only did so to see if my mileage would vary ... he! he! trying to come up with a much slimmer source i used HFSLIP 1st though ... i just hit the wall coming at T-39 minutes ... running it in a VM ... further, i did not place any addon or anything else that could bloat the source ...
  22. hi tain! i just wanted to share that there are some ipod supported formats that i couldn't play using the codecs ... but i have to apologize for i was not able to exactly get w/c file type it was specifically ... incidentally, a friend synched the device to his system & accidentally removed all my files ... grr ...
