  1. hi! i encountered these errors after using the hfcleanup for XP SP2: i tried using it via nLite too to remove some items but upon hitting the GUI, i got this something like: "DOSNET.INF not found" (i created isos via HFSLIP (1 with CAT files while the other 1 without) & created another iso via nLite to further remove a few more components) ... basically w/ the same results ... pls advise. thanks! HFSLIP.txt
  2. hi! i just like to report that apparently i missed on quite a few things ... the one i used from nLite just copied itself over to c:\dotnet2 ... dotnetfx.exe still needs to be run ... thought it worked ... as some of the add-ons that required dotnet2 worked ... i however found out that nLite still required it ... meaning it was not installed then ... so i'd really appreciate if you could point me to a link where i could download switchless dotnet2 that works for XP SP2 ... i wonder would there not be any issue using switchless dotnetfx1.1 & dotnetfx2 installers at T-13? thanks! EDIT: i will try Aserone's installer.
  3. hi! in case you'd be using nLite to reduce the source or create the ISO eventually, you can use the dotnet2 framework nLite addon (from nLite site) ... i've tried other dotnet2 "switchless" installers too but not 1 worked ... the 1 above did (i suppose) as i do not need to install dotnet framework 2 anymore for the apps that demand it ... hope this helps
  4. otherwise the user gets: "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting. This copy of Windows is not genuine and is not eligible to receive all updates and product support from Microsoft." as logon notification & This copy of Windows is not genuine. You may be the victim of software counterfeiting. as a desktop banner text ... i've seen this ... not a pretty sight! http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905474/
  5. i'll use this as soon as i get my hands on it ... thanks EDIT: The page cannot be found when clicking on the link http://www.vorck.com/data/hfcleanup.zip
  6. it would seem that the programs install correctly ... the only thing i noticed based on the 2 examples above is that this particular part of the process changes almost everytime i create new builds ... but it's okay ... was just curious ... thanks again!

  13. hi! i just like to know if there would be any others apps that we may replace via HFEXPERT\APPREPLACEMENT aside from taskmanager, notepad, mediaplayer? if a particular app for example is not just an exe file, which files do we still include (i.e., dlls, manifest, etc) for placement in the directory? or would there be another way of doing this? thanks!
  14. hi wela! please know though that, to quote from the readme: "The contents of this ZIP file are geared more toward W2K." please update us on how it would play w/ XP.
  15. can't seem to download this topic ... comes up as blank
  16. hi SQ5FG! for hotifxes supported by HFSLIP, you may always cross refer with: Windows XP updates and hotfixes (maintained by Tomcat76) http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=62177 Windows XP (all) (maintained by the guy) http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=74840
  17. already got the codec test movies ... will try at once ... thanks!
  18. appreciate the clarif Tain! i was just confused a bit about the topic ... about the tools i know about it as i am currently using vmware 5.5 & once the OS installation is done it always prompts for installation of the tools ... & it is indeed built-in to vmware ... what's good with this switchless installer is that i do not need to do that anymore, correct? btw, i was just curious --- was the tool extracted to be able to come up w/ this as apparently this tool is nowhere to be downloaded from vmware's site (unless i didn't search hard enough)? thanks!
  19. may i ask if this installer is any different from the regular VMWare .exe file? is this a trial version? thanks!
  20. ha! ha! thought it sounded something else!
  21. works like a charm Tain! i will have no need to install Codec Pack All in 1 6.0.3.0 or XP Codec Pack 1.3.4 or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.53, correct? thanks! eagerly awaiting for your zipped codecs ...
  22. i think 60523a is quite stable as there has been not much reported issues w/ it ... perhaps a final then?
  23. just to quote the masters ... you may check this out too: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=67
