  1. Maybe it was a fake one. There are many 1Gb and above USB drives that are actually much smaller. The Chinese seem to like these sorts of scams.
  2. Enable48BitLBA (see link in my sig below) Just 1 more question (sooner this gets answered the sooner I can go to work and give it a shot) How do I install that? I realise I have to do it in DOS mode so I would assume instakk 98 first and do something in real DOS mode? Assume that would mean copying and pasting that using command prompt? To what folder? Just search for "ESDI_506.PDR" and you'll find where the existing file is, copy the new one over it from DOS mode (actually, it seems you can copy it from within Windows as the file is not locked unlike the kernel, but a reboot is probably needed to load the new driver.)
  3. So... I should fix GetRight too? I have FlashGet 1.50, I think I've downloaded several 2GB+ files with it before... files that I couldn't move with Explorer until I switched over to the fixed kernel - actually, the file in my first post with an attached JPG (first page) was download with FlashGet IIRC.
  4. Show me an exploit that will pwn a machine with the 5.5 files, but not the 6.x. No proof, no upgrade.
  5. What'd you expect, blank CDs with files on them? Then they wouldn't be blank
  6. Yes, but did you actually do anything with the results of the HiJackThis scan? Just scanning doesn't change anything on your system...
  7. ... that's not a path to a file, that's a path to a directory. If the file was named 'test' and in the root, then "c:\test" would be the path to it. If you wanted the entire directory, do "c:\test\*.*"
  8. You can just put the sensor in between the fins of the heatsink, add a little thermal compound to make it sense more accurately and help hold it in place.
  9. That's just the result of running at the wrong resolution. Max for a 15-inch CRT is 800x600, although in many cases 640x480 will be much clearer.
  10. ...why'd you abort it?
  11. Enable48BitLBA (see link in my sig below)
  12. Please, stop with the Firefux recommendations... It might be a faulty BHO - have you done a HiJackThis scan and removed the unnecessary BHOs?
  13. How interesting, Norton Antivirus actually ranked high
  14. Is it possible for user-level software to independently detect and use two cores? I'd just prefer one very fast core over two.
  15. I have tested your kernel32.dll 4.10.2225 on a "from scratch" 98SE system and make2gb.exe works properly now.Thanks. Would it be possible for you to test which patch broke MAKE2GB?
  16. Mount the ISO in virtual PC?
  17. Agreed.
  18. Just end all unnecessary programs and services, and leave it alone while it's burning.
  19. I think it's out of 10

    MSFN is lucky
  21. If your example is accurate, you have a whole lot of dead or nearly-dead pixels on your monitor, and should definitely return it for replacement. Also, if you have a digital camera it's best to use that instead.
  22. This is a typical problem called a 'buffer underrun'. Basically the hard drive is not providing data at the required rate, and so the buffer empties and the partially-burnt disk is spoilt. Ensure all unnecessary programs and services (unnecessary to the burning process) are not running during the burning process, and don't do anything with the machine during such.
  23. You should monitor it to see if it's a hard shutdown like the power cord was pulled out, or a software-initiated shutdown. Certain malware has been known to have the capability to do a shutdown via software.
  24. Also, are you running it in native resolution? (1280x1024 for that one, I think...)
