Copy the folder named Outlook from C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft from the old pc into the new one. Hope this will do the trick.
Go in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft and copy the folder named Outlook from the old pc into the same location onto the new pc (that's if you`re using Windows XP).
Gigabyte hides some advanced BIOS settings under the command Ctrl + F1, so next time when you enter the BIOS hit Ctrl and F1 and you'll see all the BIOS settings (including the settings for the S-ATA controller).
@neo Don't rush! RAM may be OK and the error might come up from a bad driver or instruction @Xawix Run memtest86 (google for it) to see if your RAM is ok. If it is, read this: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=90244
Thanks cluberti! Am downloading it now (while fixing a friend`s laptop) and will have a look at it a tad later. Will come back here with my findings (if any ) EDIT: Downloaded it as html file (the only option IE7 let me) then renamed it to 7z. Now 7z tells me it's not a supported archive Just to confirm that the file is 23.5 MB in size...
I'd say mobo is dead. Somehow when unplugging the sound card either discharged or forgot the mains cord connected... EDIT: As a last resort, try and clear the BIOS.
If my 2 cents count, I would stick to XP, just as Jeremy and Jakebo said. Although I have Vista, my pc is running XP because I still am not happy about driver availability for Vista...
The cargo company sure moved fast! I got the mobo today and installed it right away. I didn't have to set anything up, it started and entered straight into Windows (which required re-activation, of course). Now I have a pc that's up and running fine
