  1. Get yourself another enclosure and use the existing hard-disk.
  2. It will still ask for the "old" password... And the OP was asking what the password is as the laptop is going to be sold. Unfortunately, I think you might have to contact Sony directly.
  3. I'm afraid that without a domain, further lock-downs are impossible.
  4. it's username@msfn.org...
  5. Have you tried to accomplish this through local group policy?
  6. Just stumbled by accident upon this: Look for any .wav files in Windows root directory and open it with Notepad and scroll to the end. They were all made using Soundforge 4 cracked by DeepZ0ne...
  7. Could you please make a full memory dump of the machine and upload it compressed somewhere so we can look at it?
  8. You have to bare in mind that Microsoft has also trademark rights on the Windows flag, Microsoft name itself and the Windows XP name. So IMHO what you are trying to do is dodgy to say the least, if not plain illegal.
  9. Yes, but first back-up your data!!
  10. The answer is YES, and I have done it on about 250 pc's. You will need the Windows Product Key Update Tool as hnmurugan stated, your VLK license, a connection to the internet (or a telephone + a lot of patience if you`re not connected to the internet) and you`re set.
  11. The kernel is the same for all versions of Vista, so it *should* see the flash... Maybe there's something wrong with the USB port you plugged it in or the flash itself.
  12. I don't use packs. I only use ffdshow and matroska splitter, the latter for HD movies.
  13. That doesn't mean it's Vista's fault...
  14. Don't forget to zip or rar the file before you upload it...
  15. You`re better off using a VNC solution, such as RealVNC or UltraVNC.
  16. The faster it spins, the more noise it will generate. Better get yourself a large diameter fan that has a low speed.
  17. Hello jd1976 and welcome to THE forum! Please upload somewhere a full memory dump and we'll have a look at it. PS. Don't forget to compress the dump
  18. I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard....
  19. I'm with Zxian on this one. You'd better leave it as it is, there's plenty of juice in that CPU for daily usage
  20. Too busy and too lazy to have one, although I own a few domains.... Need the same option spacesurfer asked for.
  21. Try Callwave. There`s even a gadget for their services
  22. I'm having a hard time here believing that a workstation OS can map the memory better than a server OS, even if it's newer. XP's kernel is based on 2000.
  23. I am using Total Commander...
