  1. Ok, I understand the "autologon". Where do I set the "automatic" and what Computer Type do I select? (is this the automatic? I don't recall that option)
  2. Been working with nLite for a few weeks and still tweaking it. My latest pet peeve is when XP boots up, I get a logon screen asking to select how I want to logon, as "me" or and Administrator. I know that once XP is installed, I can go into Run\Control USERPASSWORDS2 and force it to logon with no password, but how do I config nlite to do this? Also, when I Shutdown, it finishes with "Safe to Shutdown" but doesn't power off. Again, I know I can go to Control Panel\Power Options\APM tab and select "Enable Power management Support" but is there an nLite option. And I don't know if this is related or not, but what "Computer Type" do I have? I've been selecting "Standard PC", but I'm not so sure. I'l be usine this on either a reguar AMD or P4, or maybe a dul-core later. Are those all considered "Standard PC's"?
  3. I just tried nLite / Slipstream last week and I must say, it is VERY COOL! (I was intimidated by it a few months ago, but when I decided to build & re-install XP on 4 PCs in the next month, I thought this would be a big help. And I hate removing all the crap XP installs too) I added SP3 and IE7 to my original XP Home (upgrade CD) and tweaked a couple of the settings and un-manned installation. (unfortunately, my Upgrade version requires me to throw the the W98 version in during the install, but other than that it is very fast). My challenge (and purpose of this thread) is to see if there's a good standard or recommendations for all of the settings. I know it's my call, but some things I don't know and a couple have been bad decisions. I've run nLite several times and burned a few CDs now. A couple bad decisions: my Start Menu was the full length (height) of the screen (had to change from 30 to 8 programs). Forgot to set the regional timezone (oops). PC would shut-down, but not turn off (found the solution in the FAQs). and I'm sure there are others I just haven't discovered yet. Can anyone provide a list or link that would guide me thru these decisions better? also, I've reviewed the add-on's, but haven't added any yet. next step. (any recommendations there?) Really cool tool.
