    So... you find nothing with the hardware ID but hope we do find something without the hardware ID ? Maybe this thread contains info relevant to your search.

    There was that annoyance also: if you set same value for "Owner" and "Computer Name", the unattended install will stop and ask you for "Computer Name". So you might put a reminder on that.

    Have you checked that on the same machine ? Does it then show the disk and partitions (if any). @Kel, if he doesn't remove those drivers, why are they missing from the resulting disk ? Is it not the case of integrating Windows Media updates on a source that doesn't contain the MediaPlayer version for which those updates are intended ?

    The drivers (if any) are for disk controller, not for the actual disks. So if your former disk is recognized, your SSD will be as well. How much percents speed you'll gain and in which parts of the daily use is a different question, I think you'll find a few threads about that here already.

    There is an other catch; nLite is for personal use only (you agree to that when you install it). So accessing your company data base and stuff will have to be done an other way.

    I think the real problem with WinDVD 3 is the fact that Compaq was only allowed to provide the product with the system and not sell the product on its own. You may have even gotten a CD with the system with the software on it. It would explain why I can only find patches for it or trials for the actual software. My point was that Compaq had been distributing "Presario WinDVD 3" but not "Intervideo WinDVD 3" wth their products.

    Lots of Bios fixes are related to problems with external screens or multi monitor situations.

    Was the board "known good" before you "recently" built a PC with it (this is obviously not a new board unless it's been left in a cupboard for a long time). With more sticks tried in both slots and still nothing (I guess you've already tried a Bios reset), you might be out of luck.

    The text file does lists a version "Presario WinDVD" 3.1.53 but it seems prior to the packs presenting Intervideo WinDVD 1 and 2 (2.4.64) . It seems Intervideo WinDVD 3 came out in 2002, after Compaq was taken over by HP. @Tripredacus,: your list is the same link as posted by allen2.

    I vote Bios update. What if you hit CtrlAltDel while in Bios ? Or can you restart from a PE ?

    You come here asking for "expert advise" with something that "doesn't work", and 6 posts later, the only thing we learned is that "it doesn't work". Fine for you if you know enough. You can stop reading here. Still just for people looking for info and finding this [uNSOLVED] thread, I think that they have the right to know that this has been done by loads of people.

    They most probably do. We just don't know what you've done. Why not attach your "last session.ini" ? Why not list what you get from the unpacked Dell exe files instead of listing what you don't get ? Why not simply tell EXACTLY what your machine is (model or S/N), maybe someone more patient will tell you exactly what to do. You are the one closing the door here.

    All those exe when ran create a C:\dell\.. folder (like those of HP do) and the drivers are copied there with the installer. I'm pretty sure you'll find .inf files in all of those folders. Also if you use softwares like HWInfo32 on that system (if it's up and running), you are likely to find more up to date drivers for your devices on the manufacturer's sites (Intel, Broadcom, ..).

    You probably need to enable that somewhere in your Bios, under the USB section ("Legacy USB" or something like that).

    I have same problem with a Sempron 2800+, 1Gig RAM and a crappy onboard IGP. My connection is officially 4Mb. I stick with 11.2 and I'm half OK. Later versions are choppy indeed. Sometimes since a few months, (more and more in fact) I get pixellation for a few seconds but I guess after 4 years, it's time to reinstall. I suspect ISPs might slow down Youtube as well.

    The "Last session.ini" being the witness of your choices in nLite, you should know why those files are there. Or you picked up a random "last sesssion.ini" file on the net or on your computer. If that CD was sold with that computer, it should install XP preactivated, unless you change the key.

    I mean how are those 4 files consider hotfixes for XP ? I also meant the label of the starting CD, not the name you give to the resulting iso.

    If your Ghost version runs from a WinPE, it should be failry simple. WinPE supports boot from USB and latest WinPE should contain SATA drivers for your machines.

    I don't think I ever used the translation while running the program. I also PM'd Spoiled Brat who encountered the problem I describe. He even adds "Security Center" to the list of components who will be "ignored for removal" by nLite if not present at start. Unfortunately, the forum's "make over" ate his ini file. One more here, with ini file and more components.
