  1. If the File System is FAT32, there is no problem If the users have rights on the folder, there is no problem unless different rights have been set on the file itself or if the file has been MOVED from a directory were rights are diferent.
  2. So you're using a key you found on the internet to fake the activation and Microsoft says your install is not genuine ? Now that's strange ...
  3. If it's USB mouse & keyb, have you enabled "USB Legacy Mode" (or something like that) in the Bios ?
  4. Dumb question, but ... have you checked the "Bios Write Potect" setting in the Advanced Options of Bios ?
  5. Mirroring does improve read performance.
  6. You'd have to use a 3rd party NTFS utility to read the drive. I was wondering if (in the same way as using a BartPE disk) you could just use the delete command from Recovery Console (booting from XP CD) to get rid of the files ???
  7. Oooops, I forgot you need CDRom drivers to read the cd. First of course, check you cannot boot from CD. Some 98se disks are bootable. If not, you'll also have to copy system files to the C: to make it bootable ("sys c:"), copy config.sys, autoexec.bat and drivers to C: ("copy A:*.* c: /s") do not overwrite system files, then edit the config.sys and autoexec.bat on C: and replace all "A:" by "C:". It is needed on the lines that load CDRom drivers and smartdrive. Good luck. edit: You cannot just swap the cd "on the fly" as you are not running a plug and play OS and it will not be recognized or readable if not there from the start.

    No Signal

Disconnect the HDDs and try with 1 stick of RAM, ...if there are 2. ???
  9. Type sys c: from the floppy, that will make your HDD bootable. From there, there is no more need to "hotswap", you can boot from HD and access the files on the CD (search for the install.exe, or setup.exe, can't remember). You might have to work around the keyboard configuration but it's an easy task.
  10. Whoooop ! Thread is a year old !
  11. You have to set that partition as "active" before install if you want it to be the "C:". Did you do the first dual boot install yourself ? W
  12. There should be an existing Bios update to fix that.
  13. Those are Windows File Protection error messages, probably triggered by the post SP2 pack. Nothing to worry about, just click "Cancel" and "Yes".
  14. He didn't ask about opening a file.I'm no expert but for instance, if you type "EXPLORER D:", it opens D:. There must be lots of options like having folder pane or view type.
  15. Yes but... do you have other examples ? All burning applications I've ever used have that option quite on the front. Given the fact most people use one ore two burning applications, this should be solved rapidly. Any other type of application that opens the tray ? I can't think of any.
  16. Sorry, I can't (easily) test if this is nLite related. Does anyone know what's needed to see those ? Apart from the 6th (Iqraa TV ???) which is real media, I can't see any. I have WMPC, Real&QT alternatives, FFDShow and Titou's WMP11 codec pack. +Last flash player.
  17. Tom's Hardware has some reviews from march '07
  18. Why not give temporary admin rights to user and proceed as such ? ((( what you want to achieve is not very clear )))
  19. Pixel, area, proportionality, allloôo... I'll stop this discussion here as you seem to have no idea what we're talking about.
  20. XP Home... can only log on as Admin in Safe Mode. This is "normal" MS restriction. Not nLite or tweak fault.
  21. This post is a joke, ain't it ? BenoitRen will back me up this time Someone call the firemen. Wow, this is your first post after your presentation, why not register to a cricket forum to ask them why they don't stop that odd game to play something more modern like ... football ? No, it never did. Exactly, so why don't you post the same thread on the XP forum and promote Vista instead ? Exactly, why spend 600$ ?
  22. What's the error message ?

    burning engine?

My view is N Lite creates a ISO file. But no burning takes place until you use Nero or another burning application. ??????????? why do people reply with their "view" before actually checking what they say when someone already pointed out that they were wrong ? What about the popup menu with "Direct Burn" choice ? Why chose a burner if "no burning takes place" ? Let the knowledgable answer the question. I, for instance, don't have a clue. I don't blame wrong answers, that option came with the last versions, OK, I blame people not thinking that they could be wrong when "the orange light is on".
  24. The double equation seemed a bit complicated (and far back in time) so I went the easy way: trigonometry. 3/4 and 9/16 give you the tangeant of the angle so they are 36,8° and 25,3° respectively. From that, cosinus and sinus give you the length(wide) and heights for a diagonal of "1" and if you multiply them (cos*sin) you find the surface and you can compare both and the 16/9 is about 11% smaller than the 4/3. Now back to the original question. I think the very poor service of Acer (here at least) has to be punished in the long term.
  25. I couldn't find anything, but if all files and folder of the roots would be appear together on the new drive, what about identical names ?
