  1. I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure.
  2. I love vbs scripts. They are so lite and powerful. I have a lot of vbs scripts I collected over the years.WMI is not for the average user, thats why its optional. It is lite on resources and its a pretty good tool for networking. Nowadays ANYsoftware can cause problems and allow viruses to penetrate systems. Some member on here said a while back that common sense is the key. I tend to agree with him/her. A browser can bring more harm to your system than WMI ever could.
  3. I would like others input before I add it. Its real simple to add, but I don't want it causing problems. If you have notice I have almost all unofficial updates. They have been tested over the years thoroughly.
  4. How many people actually use this feature and should I add it to the SP.
  5. I could but who would actually use it. It doesn't matter with the logos. You'll have some that like them and some that won't like them. I'll add them anyway since its optional.
  6. Thanks for testing. USBPORT.SYS 5.00.2195.6941 works well on my system without any problems. If others are having the same problems I will remove. Don't worry Fred, its alright. As long as I can update the index.htm file and use the mediafire link we should be fine. WMI Scriptomatic Tool v2.0 is the only tool that works. Its already been added.I have tried all the other tools and they require newer versions of Windows. I will ask the creator of PerfStats98.vbs permission to add his script. Its very useful. http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/wmi.htm
  7. @ the_guy Are you going to update WinME SP?
  8. I found this hotfix version MSIEFTP.DLL 5.0.3502.6137 and it works fine on Win98 SE. I have tested this on a system without Internet Explorer. Those other versions I tried simply did not work for me.
  9. I have it, if you still need it.
  10. Yeah thats my next step. I have somewhat a major update that I will be releasing either today or tomorrow.
  11. These days you never know. I'm gone keep updating because this is something I desire to do. 98 for life.
  12. Thanks. I'll just keep working on a new update in the meantime. I guess some people will never elevate.
  13. CharlesF Did you get your system up and running?
  14. These lines help you memorize commands and future variations
  15. NET Framework and DirectX 9.0 are pretty huge packages. I'm trying to keep the Service Pack as small as possible. Although it has grown in the last six monthsfrom me updating, its still the smallest up-to-date SP out there for Win98SE. NET Framework and DirectX 9.0 install unecessary files, the SP doesn't. The Service Pack only installs what you allow it. That's why everything is optional except main updates.
  16. The inf files below are case sensitive. They all should read 1=logob.inf etc.... instead of 1=LOGOB.INF [Files] 0=notepad.exe 1=LOGOB.INF 2=LOGOG.INF 3=LOGOV.INF 4=LOGOLB.INF 5=LOGOLV.INF 6=LOGOLO.INF 7=LOGOLR.INF 8=LOGOLY.INF 9=LOGOO.INF 10=LOGOP.INF 11=LOGOR.INF 12=LOGOS.INF 13=LOGOW.INF 14=LOGOY.INF You can also remove these lines. They are only needed for the SP. ;20=rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSectionEx Msjava16.inf,UnInstall,,20 ;0=crlupd.cab,0,0,0 ;1=verinst.exe q240308,shdocvw.dll,5.0.2723.2900,0
  17. MDGx must have updated http://www.mdgx.com/files/USB20DRV.EXE because it works on top of SP3. Thanks MDGx.
  18. I'm not sure what you actually need on your computer, but you should be ok after installing main updates. I don't use neither, but if you think you need them please install them.As long as you read the Internet Explorer warning then you should be good.
  19. Thanks I'll change the text.
  20. I know this thread is almost 6 yrs old, but it makes no sense to start a new one. Heres an updated patch for you guys. http://rammichael.com/resource-hacker-fx
