This is why I was asking. A script can be created to detect how much ram is on a system and add the necessary settings. I have already removed the settings in U98SESP 3.8 thanks to rloew. I would love to see a somewhat flawless build. As you all know, I can't do it by myself, I need help. Thanks again.

So the best setting, is no setting. Thanks, I can see the light now, it was dimmed, but its bright now
-
So this would not be considered a universal setting regardless of the amount of ram?

Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 driver for Windows98
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to mrbigmouth502's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I see the original poster hasn't been back to share results Thats because the results are [THERE ARE NO SUCH DRIVERS] for Win98. People constantly posting old versions of the driver is not a solution. All they are doing is sending others on a wild goose chase. Please, stop it. -
Do you have the latest driver for your card? Latest Possible Driver
-
I tried to do it myself but I wasn't successful. Thanks It will be added in 3.9.
-
I gotcha! Now we are on the same page

This is what it does. The modified date was 22-Sep-2012 10:14:50 PM, running the command gives it Wednesday, February 08, 2006, 6:46:31 PM. Or am I not understanding you? It changes the timestamp to whatever date you choose to make it. It works great in the SP because when files get patched they lose their original timestamp. So I use this tool to give patched files their original attributes. Remember that not all PE stamps are the same as the file attributes.Example: Explorer.exe 4.72.3612.1700 PE Timestamp 2/8/1999 11:04:25 PM but the actual file timestamp is Tuesday, March 16, 1999, 11:43:06 AM.

Run this command with TOUCH.EXE and PROCEXP.EXE in the same folder. TOUCH.EXE /T 2006 02 08 18 46 31 PROCEXP.EXE You will get the timestamp Wednesday, February 08, 2006, 6:46:31 PM.

I use TOUCH.EXE from MS resource kit. This is what I use to give the modded/patch files their original timestamp. If you look in SP3 you will find the tool along with the commands located in the PATCHES.BAT file. Since I'm posting from a phone, I can't help with links.

These are the only 2 files needed. I don't know about newer versions because I use Win98. You can always test the newer files on a XP machine. I might do it later if I have time. It plays .MOV with no problem. Just drop them in the Windows\System(32) directory QUICKTIME.QTS 6.5.2.10 QUICKTIMEMPEG4.QTX 6.5.2.10

I'll send them to you later. One package is a 150MB for one file. I avoid installing codec packs because of the unnecessary files installed. I tend to remove files from my system especially if they are not needed. I have a thing for stripping down packages.

I have deleted all codecs except for CLVSD.AX 8.4.3427 [Play DVDs] DIVXDECH264.AX 8.2.0.26 [H.264 Decoder] FFDSHOW.AX 1.0.5.2032 [MPEG-4 Video Decoder] L3CODECA.ACM 1.9.0.306 [MPEG Layer-3 Audio Codec for MSACM] L3CODECP.ACM 3.3.2.44 [MPEG Audio Layer-3 Codec for MSACM] L3CODECX.AX 1.6.0.52 [MPEG Layer-3 Audio Decoder] LIBAVCODEC.DLL [Needed for FFDSHOW.AX] LIBMPLAYER.DLL [Needed for FFDSHOW.AX] VSFILTER.DLL 2.39.5.3 [subtitles] I have to say, this is very lightweight. I just thought I would share with you guys.

Windows 98SE "Immolator" - things to finish
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to Offler's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
PowerDVD 12.0.11175 has CLVSD.AX 8.4.3427 and it works with no problem. -
If you don't want to use the bloated ffdshow, then download this version ffdshow_beta5_rev2033_20080705_clsid.exe and extract the 3 files and copy them to where you want them on your system. After that, register FFDSHOW.AX 1.0.5.2032. Now you will be Golden. I hate bloated software. FFDSHOW.AX 1.0.5.2032 LIBAVCODEC.DLL LIBMPLAYER.DLL

Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 driver for Windows98
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to mrbigmouth502's topic in Windows 9x/ME

Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 driver for Windows98
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to mrbigmouth502's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Thanks jaclaz, thats what I was trying to say. As I said before, the card is a G device with B compatibility. Those older drivers will not worked. I have tried them all. If you want to continue looking thats fine, but posting links to drivers that don't work is a waste of time. There are NO Win98 drivers for this specific Intel PRO Wireless 2200BG card. Every piece of hardware I own, I have the latest driver for. Sometimes a person's word is all thats needed especially if they have done all the work for you. -
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 driver for Windows98
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to mrbigmouth502's topic in Windows 9x/ME
There are no such drivers for Win98. Those links do not work. -
That worked, I can install and use the clip art in Office 97. Thank you and I hope this helps. Thank you very much for testing.

Replace the file Msvcrt40.dll with the Win98 version.
-
Thanks It has been fixed for 3.8

rloew What about creating an WDMEX.VXD version to the same point where WDMSTUB.SYS is? Maybe add your WDMEX.VXD to SP3. If its equivalent to WDMSTUB.SYS, then there is no lost. This might be helpful in the future. The extended version, users will have to pay for. If its not a good solution, I'll keep trying to come up with a better one.
