  1. Yes the icons are different. But it only does it on my USB 2.0 device. All others have original icons. I was going to report this too, but one problem at a time. Thanks
  2. @ Drugwash and LoneCrusader, yes. The bug is there only after the file has been modded. Its not present in the original file.
  3. After following these instructions, I have WinME shell/explorer. The system speed has increased. I going to play with this for a while and report back. I did notice crap cleaner is broken. And, becuase I use IE 5.5 core files, the system has great stability
  4. I have added your workaround to SP3.10 or does it only apply to WinXP?Thanks
  5. Thanks, the reason I was asking because the fileset was going to be based off your SP. If you had added a ton of stuff then I would just have to remove a ton of stuff. fdv set the ground work now its up to us to master it. Can you imagine Windows 2000 Server with nothing but core and system files. No paint, notepad, wmp, ie, codecs, filters etc.... just core and the needed files. Thanks again
  6. When you remove all usb drivers etc... and let it re-detect on start up, the New Hardware is in the upper left corner instead of being centered.
  7. I found New Hardware box is not centered, but is in the upper left corner. Other than that, its eligible for the SP. Thanks. I have tried the original version 4.90.3001 and did not find this bug. I have also tested another modded version and get the same results. The bug lies in version 4.90.3001 somewhere within the mod.
  8. This will be the version I add to SP3.x once everything is finalized I'm not using it at the moment, but I will be once I kill all the bugs in SP3
  9. We just had a Discussion about Microsoft Security update CD. Please read it
  10. We have 3 members working hard on this somewhat hybrid file. What version should I use and from whom?
  11. I have asked many times in the past, that if users have any problems to please post step by step instructions so me or others can try to reproduce the error. The link has some references pertaining to Hyperterminal. Did you have any other Unofficial packs installed before installing SP3.x? Just stating you have a problem doesn't really help us much. Hopefully someone can reproduce yor issue because I don't know where to begin. I never had this problem, but it doesn't mean it don't exist.
  12. Sorry for wasting your time. They are already included in the SP. I must have been super tired to miss this. This means I have all the latest runtimes that I'm aware of. No runtimes over 8.x will run on Win9.x without KernelEx I guess it doesn't hurt to triple check your work. 3.10 is coming soon to a computer near you. Thanks loblo.
  13. I will add them. Thanks for the useful links
  14. Anyone up for trying them? I'm feeling kinda lazy right now
  15. SP3.x, with all options checked (testing purposes only) my system is at 470 MB of disk space. This also includes Direct X and MS Vpn client. After installing all of my software, my system jumps from 470 MB to 550 MB. The movies and music takes up most of the space on my computers not the bloated software. This is why on a 120GB HD, I have well over 119GB for my movies and music.
  16. Are these tools going to be optional? I don't use 7zip, so therefore I don't want to have to remove it if your SP installs it.Now I have already started to update fdv fileset for 2000 server. If you can give me a complete list of all the things that will be installed by default it would help. Did you ever get all the hotfixes/updates for Win 2000. If your SP doesn't suit my needs, then I will have to manually update my system with all the hotfixes/updates through HFSLIP. I'm looking to strip my system down, not blow it up
  17. It seems that bphlpt is the only one who has given some good advice. If others have input please put it in. Im not going to add obsolete files. I just need to be sure.
  18. Here's something strange, I have no apps that requires .NET. Me personally, I think it just bloat your system.
  19. If I understand correctly, there are no newer versions of the specific runtimes that I listed. That would mean they serve no purpose in Auto Patcher nor SP3.x.
  20. After examining Auto Patcher, I have found that the only updates thats not included in SP3.x are DirectX 9c Internet Explorer 6 Microsoft L2TP/IPSec VPN Client 1.0 NET Framework Netmeeting 3.01 Windows Image Acquisition 1.1 (WIA) Windows Media Player 9 (WMP)I have already added Active Directory Client Extension 5.0.2920.5 core files. 21. I will release 3.10 next week. Here are the changes so far Added 3 missing registry keys for Windows Management Instrumentation - HKCR,CLSID\%CIMWIN32CLSID%,,0,"Microsoft WBEM Managed Object Provider" - HKCR,CLSID\%CIMWIN32CLSID%\InprocServer32,,0,"%11%\WBEM\CIMWIN32.dll" - HKCR,CLSID\%CIMWIN32CLSID%\InprocServer32,ThreadingModel,0,"Both" Cleaned up all INF files Fixed Timestamp for EXPLORER.EXE when patching icons Removed MSPAINT.EXE
  22. I have not raised the ram as of yet. So you can install 3.9 if you want. Thank you for your input, and because of your approach, I will NOT raise it.
  23. Thanks TmEE You seem to be the only person with an issue with 3.8/3.9. Since I will fix it in 3.10, I will say we have a 99.9999999999999999 solid build. Since no one has come up with better solutions for USB drivers, I would assume rloew solution and a PS/2 mouse is the best route to go. If no one has any problems with 3.9, then the only change for 3.10 will be removing MSPAINT.EXE. I can then start my new endeavor
  24. I can confirm too. I will remove it because it is not needed if you are not using Microsoft Office 97. Sorry guys for the inconvenience
