  1. I think I might have found a way to fix the VIA chipset issue. If we remove all of the VIA controllers and drivers from the main USB2.INF and create a VIA.INF with the VIA only controllers and drivers, the systems that has anything VIA will default to the VIA.INF instead of USB2.INF. Now, once we get this issue reslove, we can move to the next issue which is, if users has multiple USB 2.0 devices that may conflict with specific versions of USBHUB20.SYS.
  2. Is it possible to patch or hex the Win98 version of SYSDM.CPL, so that it can automate the installation of USB drivers?
  3. Hey guys, guess what? I have got SP3.10 to install in just under 4 minutes with all options checked except for Main Updates and MDAC 2.8 SP1. I revised and tweak the installer. The older versions would take about 10 minutes on my P3 850mhz, 512MB. I was shocked when it happened, so I did it a couple more times to make sure it wasn't a fluke. The crazy thing is, I wasn't trying to do it, it just happened. B)
  4. Mdgx has a newer unofficial version IFSMGR.VXD 4.10.2227 which is already included in SP. http://www.mdgx.com/files/Q301540.EXE
  5. I wouldn't expect nothing less Here is the thing, SP is becoming more and more stable as I continue to work on it. We have less people reporting problems which means all the bugs are getting squashed. I believe 3.8 and 3.9 are very solid builds. If anyone has any objections people post. I'm hoping to see no bugs with 3.10. So far, there has been only 2 issues reported for 3.9, and one has been fixed. Once the full stability get there, aint no turning back and we are almost there
  6. There is nothing I have found that says how to use it
  7. After about a week of testing, I have found that its impossible to install DSCLIENT.EXE 5.00.2920.0005 without the following 4 files that are included inside the package. DCOM95.EXE DSCSETUP.DLL 5.0.2195.5201 SETUP.EXE 5.0.2195.4860 WABINST.EXE 5.0.2918.2600 Now after breaking down the package and adding only the core files (to speed up installation time), the files seem to break dialup networking So the only way to add DSCLIENT is to add the whole package, which adds about 3MB to SP3.x, something I was trying to avoid. Unless anyone know of a way to only add core files to keep the SP small as possible, then I have no other ideas. Another issue with this is, Main Updates installs SECUR32.DLL 4.10.2228 US and Canada Only version and DSCLIENT.EXE installs SECUR32.DLL 4.10.2228 Export Version. You will have to replace the file manually depending on what version you decide to use. Now that I have everything working correctly, I will release 3.10 either this weekend or sometime early next week. 8. I was wondering if this method can be used instead of using 3rd party apps to patch system files? It would help keep the SP slimmed down.
  9. No, you should be Golden
  10. Thanks, what do the (U) means in files mfcm80u.dll?
  11. The package is 323 MB. Thats crazy for just one file. Lets hope someone has it on their computer, if not, I will download it overnight when my bandwith is free. If I keep adding newer files people are going to get mad at me. They don't want their system updated with newer files, because they don't work on their systems.Just something a read in another forum I wish some people can see how hybrid my system is with SP3.x and 98SE2ME.
  12. After what we went through with the WinME icons.
  13. You know whats really sad? The file doesn't break anything that I'm aware of. It just changes the icon without our permission All of my USB devices work the same.
  14. Have you notice that it changes different devices? Look at LoneCrusader controller and then look at mines. It changes his USB 1.x and it changes my USB 2.0. It only happens when you use WinME SYSDM.CPL (Any Version)
  15. I don't have the backup option installed and I don't have any Tape .* registries It has to be something within the cpl file.
  16. I have such registry entries whatsoever.
  17. I'm crying right now because its funny and its true.
  18. I don't think the inf files has anything to do with it. It only appears when you replace the CPL file.
  19. 3.10 will be here soon as we get SYSDM.CPL 4.90.3002 fixed.
  20. Really weird. It happens with all SYSDM.CPL from WinME.
  21. Here is the screenshot of the icon changed
  22. What, no testers? Maybe I should just not post the new, final, fixed version? My system is installing SP3.10 right now. I will have a screenshot for you soon. Also V3 does NOT have the center bug
  23. No, it lies inside (ANY) version of SYSDM.CPL from Windows ME. This was the reason I didn't update this specific file when Maximus-Decim updated his/her package. Yes, its faster and you don't need to click next to install USB drivers. Everything is automated.
  24. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=272620 No mods or secrets, Its official. I already checked CRC/Hashes etc.... You can find it on MDGx site.
