  1. Oh and I just saw that our old buddy Claus has been compiling some relevant resources: http://grandstreamdreams.blogspot.com/2015/09/windows-telemetry-and-tracking-linkpost.html
  2. Here is a relevant set of scripts on github. Haven't tried them, can't vouch for them. https://github.com/WindowsLies/BlockWindows Found via slashdot http://tech.slashdot.org/story/15/09/01/1951235/microsofts-telemetry-additions-to-windows-7-and-8-raise-privacy-concerns The semi-manual method that alacran cross-linked is more straightforward.
  3. Thanks! And this post makes it easyto remove... http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/173752-how-to-avoid-being-upgraded-to-win-10-against-your-will/?p=1106531
  4. 100% accurate all around, jaclaz! That was the one; wish it actually made it to market.
  5. I was looking for just such a topic! MSFN and aviv00 deliver Is there a similar project for Win7 and Win8? My searching is either pitiful or I'm in too much of a hurry this morning... (Supposedly some of the telemetry stuff is being back-patched into older systems)
  6. I was looking at a solar powered glider with enough solar panels on the wings to keep it aloft indefinitely...or at least a long time. With the right software, that'd be a drone with interesting applications. But the vendor pulled it from their site and now I can't find anything comparable at the RTF/ARF level.
  7. nuhi has provided this community with many years of free software and support. I think we owe him much. I support any effort he needs to make in order to get a return on his investment.
  8. I keep coming back to unsubscribe from this thread. But then I read larryb123456's posts and resubscribe. What is wrong with me?
  9. Those were simpler times. Security has always been an issue, but it is a substanially more visible issue now and it changes the decision and the conversation.
  10. Slashdot just up an article/discussion about this. http://tech.slashdot.org/story/14/04/08/1240245/meet-the-diehards-who-refuse-to-move-on-from-windows-xp
  11. The search continues for a topic upon which jaclaz cannot comment intelligently.
  12. Reminds me of that giant virus they just resurrected a couple of weeks ago.
  13. For this thread, I don't think you have to worry about any "OT" disclaimers
  14. We were having trouble donating via PayPal's site with IE8. IE8 will work if you use the Donate link at the top of our pages.
