  1. I'm still working on this. Might have some sort of actionable feedback soon. But I definitely get different results (working vs non-working) with the two options.
  2. Me? I think you must be talking to FDV. My log was in the codebox. And no /FIX files (WINNT.SIF) were used. I think my problems may be coming from my SP3 OEM source. Most people slipstream SP3 so perhaps mine is a bit different since it is SP3 on the disc. I get really mixed results using both Options C and F. Hard to reproduce.

    Windows Updates

Yay! I am getting my HFSLIP config converted from 2000 to XP and plan on implementing sometime post-Tuesday.
  4. Having similar, yet less consistent problem. With an XP SP3 OEM source, option C yields varying results including: 1. An OS that BSOD's on boot 2. Failed installs due to missing files (similar to FDV) 3. Failed install when the i386/SVCPACK/HFSLIP.CMD is invoked Just changing to Option F is the medicine that makes it all better. This is all with a bare bones HFSLIP config: Host OS - Windows XP HFSLIP Version - 1.7.9_beta_g, build 81223 HFSLIP Path - C:\HFSLIPXP\ OS in SOURCESS - Windows XP Professional SP3 English Drivers - DRIVER.CAB Updated CD Install Path - Default CDTAG - WIN51 =============================================================================== Files in your HF folder: Files in your HFCABS folder: wbemoc.cab Files in your HFGUIRUNONCE folder: Files in your HFSVCPACK folder: Files in your HFSVCPACK_SW1 folder: Files in your HFSVCPACK_SW2 folder: Files in your HFTOOLS folder: BOOT.bin CDIMAGE.EXE Files in your HFCLEANUP folder: Files in your REPLACE folder: ===============================================================================
  5. Line 3,932 has almost the same bug. ECHO>>HFSLIP.LOG Use of HFSLIP for anything other than personal non-commercial purposes echo is strictly not allowed. ECHO>>HFSLIP.LOG Copyright(C) TommyP 2005-2009
  6. Current version has the following line that appears to be a bug:

    Formal Apology

    Thanks for the apology!
  8. This is personal preference. Which one do you like better? Have you used Vista? If not, go try it out in a store or on someone else's computer and see if you like it better than XP.
  9. If you really want to play around at the packet level you might want to start here. Of the options listed, Scapy is the one I've heard the most about.
  10. For your end goal it would be easier to use your hosts file to redirect the hostname to the other IP.
  11. 301? Can't find that on the Dlink site. Perhaps you mean the 130?
  12. Are you saying that you don't meet the minimum system requirements? And that you think it should run fine anyway? It has been quite some time since I played that game but the specs you list do seem a bit low for it.
  13. You can edit your posts, but not delete them.
  14. 1, No. Only moderators can delete posts. 2, No. Only moderators can delete posts. I doubt if this policy will be changed.
  15. Cannot reproduce in my instance of Opera. Tried clearing cache/cookies?
  16. Judging by the question, I don't think there is likely to be a managed switch in this scenario. I'm guessing there are a few boxes in a house somewhere about to get hooked up to a cable modem and router/switch.
  17. I think he'll be fine as his modem likely has a built-in DHCP server.
  18. Redhatcc, you might try craigslist for your area. Please note our rule about conducting any transactions via this forum:
  19. Perhaps you are trying to change your user name?
  20. Should we de-sticky this topic then? Thanks for all the hard work!
  21. The WW2 genre is tired these days. Give it a break for a while and then go back to it. Modern Warfare is the right genre for me!
  22. Yeah. And a key word to focus on is "spanning" but that could be, depending on implementation, restricted to use on removable media.
