Yes, all of that needs to be the same because the device extending your range is actually on your network. Your card is unlikely to have a fixed channel. It probably uses whichever channel (1-11) is being used on the network that you connect to. You need to worry about the channel at the router/AP level.

Sounds like an unseated card/device to me. Disconnect all of your cards and cables then reconnect them securely. Don't forget to discharge static first

Some video card driver software includes this feature. My Matrox, for example, allows me to do this without any other software. So check your display adapter software first.

If you can't disable the feature, just make the password something insanely long and difficult. Then change it (staying insanely long and difficult) whenever you change your other passwords.

I'm still around, too But I'm away on business since late June. I check in from time to time but cannot be online much these days.
