  1. Good question...haven't heard from FDV in a while either... Thanks, tommyp.
  2. Outstanding work! This method is fast, easy, and effective. It works great with HFSLIP. Thanks!
  3. I was about to test this out but the readme from mini002.zip says that it is based on HFSLIP_051109. Quite a bit has changed since then so I am wondering about FDVFILES. FDV's have been updated; should I still overwrite with Oleg_II's?
  4. Yes, Litestep. That shot is of a customized version of the non|step theme with a photoshopped background and a samurize config at the top. Probably should have mentioned all of that in the first post. Sorry For those of you interested in alternative shells, the Litestep community has recently sprung back to life. A good place to start is ls-universe.
  5. I've seen a few different people say that the 2K3 bootloaders are the way to go. YMMV.
  6. I think the best non-IE option is still http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/, but there is also a qchain solution called daisy that looks promising.
  7. I see 3 news articles but not much else. Is there more content? If so, what are you using to present it? I am an Opera user...
  8. And it validates properly! Good job, although the CSS needs just a bit of polishing. You get a few errors but they are all related to missing background colors. Anyway...nitpicking aside, that looks like a great site with a noble cause. Best of luck to you.
  9. Nicely done. Very simple yet functional.
  10. Just stick with the light version of [xplorer²].
  11. PC Mag says that the 6000 weighs in at 7lbs. How much beefier does it get when you go with the 9-cell battery? I personally prefer thin/light laptops for portability but this one should definitely serve you well if the display is your main attraction. And that extra battery power will certainly come in handy Lots more details at NotebookReview. Congrats on your purchase!
  12. prankst3r got my vote. That entry is very elegant and serene. The widgets work quite well with the wallpaper. Very nicely done.
  13. Unlocker 1.8.0 is the most current version now. This bit of software is updated very frequently! Changes since last post (1.7.8): Unlocker 1.8.0 - 18/02/2006 - New feature: Unlocker Assistant. Unlocker Assistant stays in your system tray bar and automatically launches Unlocker if you are trying to delete/rename/move a file that is locked. So for those who use Unlocker Assistant, no need to right click files or folders anymore. This feature can be deactivated during the install. - New language: Indonesian thanks to Edi Gunawan Liu Unlocker 1.7.9 - 04/02/2006 - Improved Installer: Now Unlocker should install well over the previous version without needing to reboot - New functionality: Unlocker -H or Unlocker -? shows the command line usage - New functionality: Command line option to generate a log of handles found on a given file - Fixed bug: Fixed a potential page fault bug in UnlockerDriver5.sys - Fixed bug: Fixed a bug which caused the locked dll not to appear when right clicking on the root of a drive Changelog
  14. I can see some value in this for pre-XP users such as myself, but isn't this similar to XP's "system resotore?"
  15. There are some even better prices to be had on eBay but pricewatch says that you got a good deal from ADC. Overall it looks like you did pretty well.
  16. OpenOffice.org For Windows 2.0.2 RC3 (Beta) File Size: 89,070 KB Release Notes Some speedy tips

    HFSLIP your codecs

http://www.rapidfile.net/download1.php?id=1370 This zip contains Yzowl's modded pack with some changes and additions based on tommyp's method. It works with HFSLIP:

    HFSLIP your codecs

Here is a consolidated zip of Yzowl's modded codec pack. I am going to merge this with tommyp's info and hopefully end up with an HFSLIP-friendly codec pack. One question, though. I have wmfdist.exe in my HF folder and it is bascially WMA/V codecs...is there a conflict between that and these other codec installers? Both Yzowl and tommyp have WM codecs; shouldn't we go with either/or but not both? EDIT: I guess the zip was too large...here is a rapidfile link: http://www.rapidfile.net/download1.php?id=1367
  20. Pretty sweet stuff. Thanks for the addtional functionality. Yet another codec installer method to deconflict...*sigh*
  21. Where can we find these packs? What do they add/update?

    HFSLIP your codecs

Wow, tommy. Those links are right on target! Just how much DO you rule? I'm going to put all of these pieces together this weekend and perhaps contribute (gasp!) a consolidated solution that is customized for HFSLIP. Cheers!

    HFSLIP your codecs

I am having a few problems with this but I think that it may be because some of the codecs have been changed/updated. I am using the newest KLMC1.51 and installed *all* options. Of codec lists that tommy posted, I don't get these files loaded: 3ivxDSMediaSplitter.ax ac3filter.cpl CLVSD.ax CoreAAC.ax CoreFLACDecoder.ax DirectVobSub.cpl ir50_lcs.dll MatroskaSplitter.ax mpeg2dmx.ax QT: qtmlClient.dll Although I did get a 3ivxDSmux.ax...could that be a new/replacement version for 3ivxDSMediaSplitter.ax? Real gets a bit weirder. I can get some of the files listed by tommy, but others seem to be new versions i.e., I get drv1.dll and drv2.dll instead of the "3260" series in tommy's list. I do, however, get some of the 3260 series: atrc3260.dll cook3260.dll Are my files all screwed up or does the thread need to be updated? Should I scour the net for the files? That would likely leave me with various mis-matched versions that may cause problems.
