  1. perhaps because the uninstaller in the Winamp folder is a remnant of the NSIS installer, where as the entry in the Add/Remove is created by the Windows Installer.
  2. Black Cloud told me that he's basing the guides off his experience, and not doing a translation of the guides, so as such it's not really a translation of the guide.
  3. if you have access, check your momem/router config page for remote access management. You may need to disable that. Also, do keep in mind 192.168.*.* are not public IP addresses and are only internal network addresses
  4. I'm not aware of any... out of curiousity, why do you ask?
  5. umm... are you asking to become an official translator of the site?
  6. someone already narrowed down that it's a certain file ml_wire taht's causing it. Why don't you MD5 the file from the MSI and the NSIS and compare them to ensure they're the same file? If they're not the same file, then i probably screwed up and included the wrong file, if they are the same file, then i don't know what to tell you. I would, but I have a few major projects due this week that I REALLY need to start working on.
  7. You already said it's a problem with the ml_wire plugin. Since the last modified date of the DLL itself is 8/31 i would say Winamp themselves didn't fix it.
  8. Or not. The point of this MSI was to recreate the ORIGINAL installer as much as possibe. Since the Language Packs were nto part of this, no. In all honesty, the language packs are EASY to install by themselves. Typically they're a few files that if you copied over yourself it'd have the same effect as their original installation routine.
  9. whooops... Knew there was one condition i forgot to check. I fiddled with things in this MSI to try and make it as small as possible. Reduced it by about 500KB in the process. You'll have to point me to where this was mentioned before. I looked in all the MSI's tables, but don't see ANY mention of it. I'm uploading a fixed version of the MSI now, should be done in about 5 minutes I'd also appreciate it if you didn't try to decompile the MSI. I know it's easy with certain programs, but out of respect...please don't
  10. MSI updated to 5.111 Do keep in mind however that the new size is also reflected by the original's size increase as well.
  11. chmod isn't hard to understand...it's just the octal representation of the binary string representing the digits... d rwx rwx rwx first group of rwx is the owner second is the group third group is for guests d determines if it's a directory.. But back to topic....you're dealing with windows folder permissions. This could be result of the server is trying to write a file to a protected folder, the folder was created by another user (if you have shared folders off) or the server is running with limited rights. I forget how exactly to solve this problem, but coming form the fact that Apache didn't have the problem, i would guess the IIS server might be running with User rights and not Admin rights. Typically, on a unix system, the server runs as a global user, and then each session of PHP and other lanuages are run under different credentials. SOme Unix servers though forget that little thing, and give anyone with remote access to the server with a directory listing php program access to the whole system.
  12. you COULD let MSFN set a cookie that would have the same effect. Then upon page load, it will log you in automatically There's also isn't that reliable a way to ensure the person is who they say they are if it's just a simple IP check.
  13. Someone readonly what they wanted to, and nothing more.... The file that's mentioned throughout the ENTIRE page for setup purposed is WINZIP32.EXE, NOT WIN32SETUP.EXE. That right there tells me you didn't read the page carefully. Coming from this, and the section entitled "Network Administrator One-Time-Only Setup", you need to extract the SFX (winzip100.exe) either by running it, and copying the files extracted to another folder, using WinRAR or similar. You'll then need to script in your Unattended process to copy over those extracted files from your CD to where you want Winzip installed (typically %ProgramFiles%\Winzip), and then execute the commands listed on that page. Last but not least, WINZIP32.EXE is the base Winzip file, the installer routine is part of the program itself. So when executing the commands it would be %ProgramFiles%\Winzip\WINZIP32.EXE /autoinstall Thanks for not reading the linked page carefully
  14. http://www.winzip.com/xsiteins.htm That was about of minute looking on the winzip site...
  15. A dialogue box is loaded so that you can state the problem. A new form will appear on the screen, stating the topic title, and a box to put in the report. After you hit submit, an e-mail is sent to all the mods, and the first one that checks their mail will probably act upon it. That being said, it's REALLY annoying when people use taht button to reply to a post, or to call attention from the mods just to get some help (the report literally states "please help")
  16. I've seen this issue before, but I would have thought the forum upgrade would have fixed this.... This could be caused by several factors.... 1. For some reason IPB has the limit set two different places with two difference values. I've seen this happen in other applications so I can't rule it out. 2. It's a limit in the field of the MySQL database using the wrong datatype or has itself been limited in the number of characters it can hold. 3. Something else I can't think of off the top of my head
  17. 3. Disable ALL downloading managers. Disable all identify protection software. Go into the Browser's Options and see if you see the option. 4. The MSFN servers have hotlink protection enable, and it works based on the RefererID sent by the browser to ensure it's coming form another MSFN site.
  18. It's a shame you cripple your browser by not letting an REFERED ID's through to the server needing them. I really was debating answering this question, as I'm sure it was stated SOMEWHERE either in this thread, or one of the old MSI threads....
  19. It honestly depends on the topic.... I used to reach each post created in the Unattended and Member Projects forums. But then I saw the same thing asked over and over and I knew if I read one more I'd be irritated by that user and be mean to them. Now I look for ones that could potentially be bad, ones that I'm interested in, and ones that appear to be needing an answer that no one really knows besides the veterans.
  20. I'll try and get to it either today or tomorrow...
  21. I don't think that you can use any switches, when deploying via group policy. You have to use an .mst, if you want to modify the installation. If not, where can I make use of switches, when using gp? If that's the case, then you can use ORCA or any other MSI editor to create an MST file. All switches can be found in the "Property Table" and just set them to either 0 or 1 just like you would teh switches. The MSI will think no different from that to a command line switch call.
