  1. Did you open port 25 for SMTP?
  2. That's exactly what I said... There is also someone else here running it with an Athlon 64. What sense does that make?
  3. this is a off-topic, but if you do a lot of print screens you might find Gadwin PrintScreen handy.... http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the info. I don't do a lot... I was just pointing out just how easy it is.
  4. Your "proof" is someone else who says they have it running? Your lost man. 1. Print Screen 2. Start/Run/mspaint 3. CTRL V 4. Save As 5. Attach to forum Seems pretty easy to me. Instead you spent twice as much time typing about how you don't have to prove anything. Why don't you go out and buy a Black and White TV?Why don't you listen to 8 tracks anymore? Why don't you heat your house with coal? Why? Anyone who is using Windows XP and loves it isnt' going to waste their time going back to an OS that they remember crasing in the middle of everything they ever did! "Oh, but MINE doesn't..." You can't even install XP stabily on your PC, and somehow you have Office 2003 on your Windows 98 PC.... I don't believe anything you have to say because you don't back it up with proof and fact.
  5. Office 2003 does not install on Windows 98... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;822129 Have a screen shot to prove otherwise? EDIT: HAHA... great minds think alike!
  6. I'm gonna chime in again... That's funny.. Office 2003 doesn't support or install on Windows 98. Yet you bought and installed Office 2003 on Windows 98? Your stories have holes all in them. You hate the activation of Windows, I can bet you LOVE activating Office 2003. Open Office will do everything Office 2003 will... why not use it? That's your thinking... take a dose of your own medicine. Why aren't you using it?!? BECAUSE office 2003 is BETTER, just like Windows XP is BETTER. But, once again, I am calling you out on Office 2003 being installed on Windows 98.
  7. Yep. Thank you for the post thought. I really appreciate it. Hopefully it will help someone else some time. I'm one of those guys that doesn't like to wait and always eager to learn so after I posted I just decided to try to figure it out myself. That's the first thing I have ever done in VBS. It's not really as hard as I had once thought it was. I think I might have found my next project. Thanks again!
  8. Thank you for your help... I actually decided to delve into it myself and was able to piece this together and it works perfectly. Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") clientid = InputBox("Please enter the client ID","Client ID") IF clientid = "" Then WScript.Quit END IF url = "c:\progra~1\intern~1\iexplore.exe http://companyweb/clientfiles/Files/Forms/Indexed.aspx?View=%7bBD14E85E%2dB310%2d4343%2d8960%2d263A8F21EFE3%7d&FilterField1=Client%5fx0020%5fID&FilterValue1=" + clientid WshShell.Run(url)
  9. Hey everyone. Maybe you can help me out. I need a javascript that when run will pop up and ask "Client ID Number" and once you enter it and click "OK" it launches a website using that variable. Question: "Client ID Number" Buttons: OK, CANCEL Launch: http://companyweb/clientfiles/Files/Forms/Indexed.aspx?View=%7bBD14E85E%2dB310%2d4343%2d8960%2d263A8F21EFE3%7d&FilterField1=Client%5fx0020%5fID&FilterValue1=VARIABLE Once you click OK the box should disappear and launch IE using the URL IE launches a URL using this method... c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe http://www.sitename.com I appreciate any help you may be able to give me. If you can create it or point me where I might find more information on how to do this it would be much appreciated. Thank you!
  10. Didn't mean for this to become a LINUX VS. WINDOWS battle... I just wanted to point out that it's not all free. I will stick with Windows which I believe to be the best for me.
  11. I'm not a big fan of software firewalls. I would say you are best off having a hardware firewall. A stateful firewall is best.
  12. Here's a little more information... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;842690 Also, the Premium edition of SBS includes SQL Server.
  13. Write a couple reviews?
  14. Yeah... it's funny that people don't search, check support.microsoft.com or search google before asking things... and then spend 2 weeks trying to get the answer on here
  15. You can find username here... HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon I'm not sure about groups (may be in the same key) but I can check tomorow when I am at the office.
  16. Find your RIS server in AD. Right click on it and go to Properties. You can set the default OU.
  17. What is the GPO you are trying to set? And where are you setting it?
  18. OK, before this one gets onto an entirely different tangent... let's not turn this into a political battle. Those views are best kept to yourself.
  19. Problem one... RIS HAS to create a computer account. If it does not then when it reboots after text mode it will not be able to authenticate and copy the SIF file back down from the server. Why don't you just have it ask you for the computer name during the CIW?
  20. home or business? color or blank and white? flatbed or feed? any other special needs?
  21. give this a try... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;330163
  22. Actually.. just found out it's bound to 1024 characters too..
  23. Why not give this a try? http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/22/ Windows has what you are looking for built in.
  24. Your install should not do this by default. Try running setupmgr and creating a new SIF file, or post a copy of your current SIF file. Don't forget to use the CODE tags. Also, welcome to MSFN!
  25. I just posted this a couple days ago. I believe it will work for you. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=42561&hl=
