I would guess you are running nLite with a AV running...

Been kicking this one around for a while, As far as I can tell it is because your card is in essence an flash drive... Therefore wpi THINKS it can write to it. WHY is it doing it? I dunno yet. It should have no reason to need write access

HOW are you initializing WPI.exe? You seem top be having the EXACT OPPOSITE issue alot of others are having...

Notes: Cannot use the USSF, Extract, reschange functions or anything else like langs, graphics and such. Remember this is for BASE usage! OK I removed the following: Audio (Keep the install.m3u file in the audio folder) Graphics (Whole folder) Lang (Keep lang_en and your chosen lang file) Manual (Whole folder) Themes (Keep your chosen theme!) Tools (Keep Sleep.exe) Change Log.txt WPI Info.txt I tested this with a completely new WPI config and on a fresh installation of windows... YES there is more that COULD be removed BUT I don't want to get to detailed or limiting on the functionality! Remember all you need to do to restore ANYTHING is to add the files back in!

I meant OEM crap as in all of the STUFF that is commonly ADDED to an OEM disk. Nortons, mcaffe, ad-ware, trial ware and all that extra feces...

I think with SP1 images freely and legaly available you would just go with a clean bare SP1 instead of the OEM crap and call it good...

#1 SP3 OVERWRITES almost all of the previous changes (You HAVE to do this first and make a new "base") #2 Never hit go and back and go again! #3 You need to do EVERYTHING at once in one run starting from a fresh source.....

I removed everything from it that doesn't install anyways by hand and then go from there. i.e these folders and files: README.HTM SETUP.EXE SETUPXP.HTM DOCS DOTNETFX SUPPORT VALUEADD AUTORUN.INF FROM the root. And these: LANG WIN9XMIG WIN9XUPG WINNTUPG WINNT32A.DLL WINNTBBA.DLL From the I386 dir... Takes the BASE XP\SP3 from 583 megs to 383 megs
