  1. Sorry for the delay in a response, but these past two days have been really busy. I've actually been thinking about Norton Ghost, but I'm still unsure about whether or not it can put the disc image on the external hard drive directly. The drive didn't come with any software for backup, which sucks. SelfImage looks promising, but I'm confused about network drive support. Opinions, anyone? the_guy
  2. The date in the main post is wrong. It says July 30th, when it should say October 1. the_guy
  3. I posted the wrong number. It should say 329414. Sorry about the confusion. the_guy
  4. I just purchased a 320GB network hard drive, and I want to back up my computers to it. I have 3 computers, 2 running XP SP2 and 1 running 2000 SP4. What program should I use to back up my drives, Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image? I need a program which would write the backup directly to the network drive and be able to restore from it if the need should arise. Thanks in advance, the_guy

  6. The shockwave installer looks good. Just curious, how did you stop the IE popup? the_guy
  7. This looks good so far Gape. I was able to obtain KB243174, which, while updating some DirectX files (The version included in 98SE), also updates msdv.sys to version 4.10.2224. Would you like me to send this to you? the_guy
  8. List updated with September 2007 hotfixes. the_guy
  9. WMP90_98.EXE is just the original WMP9 installer, modified to work under 98FE. the_guy
  10. KB936357 is only required for an Intel-based system. It shows up on my Intel PC's. Does your brother have XP SP2 or 2003 SP1/2? the_guy
  11. SFC.DLL and SFPDLL.DLL are from System File Protection, and SMGR.DLL is from System Restore. I'm sure dummy files would work just as good, wouldn't they? the_guy
  12. This project looks interesting. Hate to tell you though that KB832353 has been replaced by the rollup and KB936782 (msdxm.ocx are the same in KB832353 and the rollup, wmp.dll is newer in KB936782). the_guy
  13. For the time zone update you show KB931836. This should be changed to KB933360. the_guy
  14. I sent that to your email a while ago. If you lost the link, I can just resend it to you. the_guy
  15. I didn't see the answer to my question. I do no. List will be updated ASAP (again). the_guy
  16. Thanks Hulk. They were put up on Tuesday. List will be updated ASAP! the_guy
  17. Try running the following command: "%17%\UNREGMP2.EXE /UpdateWMP" Also, did you reboot before trying to use WMP after installing this update? the_guy
  18. The switches are wrong. The "/?" dialog box pops up listing all valid switches, indicating that this should be "/quiet /norestart" instead of "/q:a /r:n" - John Crap... it could also be that I actually had left the "(cannot use the /integrate; option)" on my command line. Crap. Well... I fixed that, but the error still stands. The switches are wrong and need to be changed to "/quiet /norestart". I downloaded it and ran /? and it gave me the correct switches. I guess I will have to do more tests. Are you guys extracting the downloaded file or not? the_guy
  19. Any reason why the unofficial WMP9 patch won't work on 98FE? There is a method to installing it. the_guy
  20. A suggestion would be to make a special command file to change the checksum of the file by hex-editing it. That way modifyPE is not required for Vista. The thing is, I have no idea on how to do this. btw, what files are required to be run throught modifyPE? I think the IE7 installer should be fine. the_guy
  21. For an FDV build, use the top ones and the FDV section. I will be making an FDV list in the next week or so. the_guy
  22. msvcrt.dll v6.1.9847.0 works on BOTH Win98 SE AND WinME, dencorso. I know this because that file works fine under WinME and even under Win95. I've used that file on other 9x versions of Windows and found no problems with that file. Thanks for the feedback, erpdude8! I've now gotten a NEWER msvcrt.dll file. it's version 6.1.9848.0!!! you guys won't believe where I got this newer msvcrt.dll file (take a wild guess) this one fixes a daylight saving bug as mentioned in ms kb article 932590 Please download my OSR2 Update Rollup pack again, bristols. It's now beta 6 and you can get it here: http://www.usaupload.net/d/9axq0j28l15 Could you e-mail me the hotfix that you got msvcrt.dll 6.1.9848.0 from? the_guy
  23. Fixed! Also fixed the coloration issue. I guess those end tags are important. the_guy
