  1. Suggestion for 917008: Remove the MUI files and just treat the rest like a normal hotfix. Is this possible, or not? the_guy
  2. I'm going to do my own observations and check which updates are and aren't replaced. Gotta love personal lists with file versions. My lists will be updated tomorrow sometime. Also, they will have changelogs for the current month (new addition). @Tomcat: The only update I can see a problem with is 917008 (MS06-044). the_guy
  3. If you're using msvcrt.dll 6.1.9844.0, why not use version 6.1.9846.0 instead? It's in my SP, if you need to get it. the_guy
  4. Hey guys. The next version of the SP is almost ready. As well as the changelogs I posted recently (look at the last one), I am planning on including WMP 6.4. However, I know that a lot of files have been updated to the 7.x line, and others are just newer than what I could download. The following list is what files are being included, compared to what is on the ME cd. All of these files are from the MPLAYER2 cab in IE6 SP1, except msdxm.ocx, which is from 832353. -File name- -Version in SP- -Version on CD- asfsipc.dll 1.0.0.3858 1.0.0.3857 drmstor.dll 4.1.0.3858 4.1.0.3857 dxmasf.dll 6.4.7.1121 6.4.7.1112 mplayer2.exe 6.4.7.1121 6.4.7.1112 msdxm.ocx 6.4.7.1129 6.4.7.1112 msdxmlc.dll 6.4.7.1121 6.4.7.1112 npwmsdrm.dll 4.1.0.3858 4.1.0.3857 strmdll.dll 4.1.0.3925 4.1.0.3857 If anyone has a newer version of any of these files, please let me know. DO NOT POST FILES THAT START WITH 6.4.9 AS THEY DON'T WORK ON ANY PRE-2000 (ME included) OS. If this is wrong, tell me, and show it working. Also, I am going away this afternoon and returning on Tuesday, so don't expect a new version before Wednesday. I might have some time on Tuesday night, but I honestly doubt it. the_guy EDIT: I should also point out that I could NOT get 899282 from Microsoft. If anyone has the file, could they please send it to me so I can include it in the SP.
  5. I experienced that with Office 2000, and it ticked me off to no end. Otherwise, good job Tomcat. I can keep hotfix lists up to date for this if you want (when it's released, of course). the_guy
  6. @Demo. Just 917734. However, there IS a WMP9 version, so I would get that instead of the WMP10 version. the_guy
  7. I just looked on the Microsoft site and it says version 5.3 to install. Does that work? the_guy
  8. I'd say for them to either ignore the message or upgrade to the ME files. Also, what do you think about what I'm asking about an 891711 fix? the_guy
  9. @MDGx: On the note of the GDI fix for 918547 posted today, would you be able to get the author to make a patch for 98FE? Also, could you try to make the patched 98FE and the patched 98SE (4.10.2225) ESDI_506.PDR in 1 file, and then rename the file with ESDI_506.PDR 4.10.2226 to SE48BLBA.EXE? Slightly O/T: Would you be able to contact the author of the unofficial 918547 patch to see if they could patch user.exe and user32.dll to prevent the 891711 flaw. the_guy
  10. A couple of things: 1. The AOL Art update should be in the SUPP.CAB file as it is not present on the 98 CD (psst... This installs with IE6 SP1 on 98 and NT4, but not on 2000. It's also included in ME and newer). 2. Why not replace msvcrt.dll to version 6.0.9787.0? Found in KB article 259403. Good release otherwise. the_guy
  11. What I meant was that 2003 does not include ANY games. the_guy
  12. I'm going to agree. Maybe modify the code for XPSP2 to if exist xpsp2.exe goto slipsp just an idea. It might be sending it to the wrong part though. the_guy
  13. It won't work under clean 98 because of some dependancies, however it may work with Kernel Update. So do you guys want me to try fixing MS06-15 for WinME? Actually, it won't work with Kernel Update. It is still missing SHBindToParent in shell32.dll. Kernel Update fixes 1 dependency, but not both of them. Oh well, It should work with 98SE2ME Option 3. the_guy
  14. For the one that includes HFSLIP.LOG, remove 918886, 911565, and 892313 from your HF folder. They are all replaced by 917734. the_guy
  15. Did that as soon as you posted that the other version didn't work. the_guy PS: I'm adding the esdi_506.pdr fix. Let me know if you don't want it in (@all)
  16. Why don't you add webvw.dll from MS05-049 to Option 3? It works on ME with no problem, and it only has 2 missing dependencies in 98SE, both in shell32.dll. What you could do is renumber it in Resource Hacker to 5.50.4134.7061. Also, a little note about Internet Games on your site. 2003 SP1 does not include ANY of the games. the_guy
  17. @Petr: Thanks for the heads up. I think the new version of msvcrt.dll will fix the issue. @all: I just requested the 899282 msvbvm60.dll 6.0.97.89 fix. If anyone has that file, could they send it to me please? the_guy
  18. 900485 has been updated to v2. Link to download page is here the_guy
  19. What I think this issue could be is that they installed the SP (English) on Italian Windows, which frigged up their system. Back to the msvbvm60.dll question, would anyone be able to send me version 6.0.97.89? the_guy
  20. @MDGx, I was looking at your Q912919.EXE file, and I just removed a whole lot of crap from it to make it more like the ME version. The 2 main INF's went down to 299 bytes, from 1.92 kb. The Q912919.INF file went from 715 bytes to 260 bytes. I removed the qfecheck files as they weren't needed, and I shortened up a whole lot of strings as well. I also removed the uninstall, as I didn't think it was needed. send me an email if you want my reduced copy. Also, could you update your Riched files with usp10.dll version 1.0422.3790.2706 from WS919136.EXE? What's the difference between them anyway? the_guy
  21. What I'm thinking the problem is now is that the cabs are English. The only one that looks like a problem is the LegitCheckControl.cab file. What you could do is get the download link from MU in WindowsUpdate.log on a running XP system (search for 892130 and choose the link), then put that file into your HF folder and remove LegitCheckControl. the_guy
  22. I never knew about those files. Thanks for the heads up Petr. Would someone be able to obtain 899282 for me? the_guy
  23. I have no idea why they would have that error. I am going to be including msvcrt.dll 6.1.9846.0 in the next Service Pack. Here is the current changelog (still need to examine a couple of files): -rolled back msvcp60.dll to version 6.2.3104.0 -removed auupd.exe -fixed npdsplay.dll copy issues -Updated usp10.dll to 1.0422.3790.2706 (919136) -Updated msvcrt.dll to version 6.1.0.9846 (837239) -Updated scrrun.dll to version 5.6.0.8830 (906092) -Updated vbscript.dll to version 5.6.0.8829 (903648) -Updated triedit.dll to version 6.1.0.9240 (2003 sp1) -Updated dhtmled.ocx to version 6.1.0.9242 (906216) -Updated hhctrlui.dll to version 5.2.3664.0 (ie6 sp1) -Added 832414 (msxml.dll) -Added webvw.dll from 900725 (reshacked to version 5.50.4134.7061 and reg entry) Also, does anyone have access to msvbvm60.dll version 6.0.97.84? I know it's included in KB832584 but I don't have a license to Visual Studio. Please note that the changelog is not final until I release the Service Pack, so if there any requests, I might be able to include them. If I get the new msvbvm60.dll before August 8, I'll include it in this release. If you get a link for me, could you please just send me an email with the link? Also, I am going to be on vacation in a little over a week for a few days, so I will not be actively online (just when I snag an Internet Connection). Thanks in Advance, the_guy
  24. Ooh. If you slipstreamed SP2, then disregard the following, ctpooon: You want the file for 916281 that you already had. the_guy
  25. Going back to the webvw.dll discussion, does anyone know if webvw.dll build 7069 from MS05-049 will work on ME? the_guy
