  1. A few of the tools will be joining my pack soon
  2. "Largely" unnecessary? It's completely unnecessary.
  3. But do you get WMP10 with it?
  4. Possible, but a royal pain in the arse EDIT: The MSI doesn't even support administrative installs
  5. Quoted for truth.
  6. Soon they'll be one program
  7. erik_demon: You should really be using LZX:21 compression on your CAB files. It'll greatly improve your compression ratio. 7zip still compresses better, but every bit helps
  8. Well, maybe you should see what it takes to email them rather than assuming you know And God forbid you should actually have to do some work yourself instead of having others do it for you!
  9. ...just email MS and ask them to send you the update.
  10. Possibly Possibly Unlikely Unlikely Don't count on it Well duh Don't count on it Don't count on it.
  11. The fix will be in my next update pack coming next week, for what it's worth.
  12. Glad to be of help
  13. ...who wants to make bets that djfirestorm's jscript problems are the result of user error? Come on, somebody surely must want to take me up on that.
  14. Jesus, it's on the third page of this forum
  15. Like I said, that's war59312's site. And of course, you could always just use my update pack if you want them integrated
  16. He got them from war59312's site. They're unreleased hotfixes that are available by request only. And no, you can't use /integrate unless you have the original EXE. My suggestion would be to convert each of those to SFX archives which call "update\update.exe /q /o /n/ z" when run and add them to svcpack.inf.
  17. Why not just call the exe with -ms directly instead of repacking it like that?
  18. You don't need qchain. It's been unnecessary for pretty much all hotfixes released within the last year or so. Certainly for all post-SP2 hotfixes.
  19. ...what would you call me? If you look inside the network install of SP2, you'll see that there are numerous files which are specific to XP Home and XP Pro. There's no way you can "transfer" things, like I said before. So yes, you're going to have to either suck it up and download the 270MB file or order a CD.
  20. ...why are you making things so complex? I strongly suggest you keep this acronym in mind in the future - K.I.S.S. - Keep it simple, stupid! Just download the network install of SP2 and integrate it into the XP Home CD following the guides available all over the internet (Google it if you don't know where they are). There's no need to "cross-integrate" from one CD to another. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en
  21. From an MSFN thread nonetheless: http://myitforum.techtarget.com/inc/upload...ICabExtract.zip
  22. Frink, is that a Dell (or other OEM) CD? I know Dell would also add hotfixes and such to their CD, which is why SP2 wouldn't integrate into it. Like gunsmokingman said, removing the svcpack directory should allow you to do it (you'll also want to verify that svcpack.inf is empty afterwards)
  23. I know that the driver INFs in i386 basically use layout.inf as their [sourceDisksFiles] section, which is why adding files to driver.cab is extraordinarily difficult.
  24. So people stop IMing and emailing me, my next release is planned for either April 12 or 13, after MS releases their April security updates. No public beta is planned as the changes between 1.2.0 and 1.2.1 aren't nearly as significant as the changes between 1.0.5 and 1.2.0. Also, if anyone has the CABs for the below update pack versions, please PM/email/IM me. 1.02 Lite 1.02 Full 1.03 Lite 1.04 Lite 1.05 Lite 1.05 Medium EDIT: My forums are back up. Please continue any further discussion on this topic there.
